Springfield XD9 (9mm) Compact with a 15 round magazine. (mine is ported)

It fits like a glove and really is an extension of your hand.

1,000's of rounds fired with ZERO malfunctions of any kind.

Something 22LR is a must. Best bets are Ruger 22/45, Browning Buckmark, and various S&W/Ruger revolvers.

    Otherwise a .357 S&W 686 or Ruger GP100.

The must have pistol is the one you would actually carry, use, and treat like a tool.

Which one that is depends on your circumstances, but I'd say for most civilians that would be a mid-sized, affordable, ultra reliable workhorse type.

Honestly that makes me lean Glock (!)
