What about a rifle or shotgun side match also? I don't know that club so I don't know what their ranges are but one reason I like shooting IDPA at Thurmont is the occasional side matches in DMG.

It is on the Radar but, with the size of the stages I don't think we will have room. 12 stages is tight right now and we will stagger some from the way it looks now.

OK. For me as long as it does not happen the April weekend of the PSA Shootout or the late summer of the Ruger Rimfire (new name and sponsor for 2013) I'm Ok. Got any RV parks where I can stash my motorhome?

If your active or retired military or civil service there is the campground at patuxent river naval air station. You just need to work out a place to keep your firearms.

The state match is looking real weak right now. I had a friend prod for some help up north and I hope that we can make this happen but I see this getting pushed to the fall. I hear so many request and how to run this match and it is over the top. I had the caterer, match hotel, sponsors, stages drawn up and the other things on the huge list. For the most part all I hear is do it this way and it wont happen from the nay sayers. Yes the words come back around from the other mouth pieces of no action out there.

In the 6 months we have 10 people that can work the full weekend and 12 people that can work one or the other day.

I will try and push this but, with guns being far a few between, and all the goodies to go with them our prize table is not going to be what it was before and with the availability of help I can't tell you. I will make the call on the match by the end of the month to say if this is going to happen. All I can say is it is a volunteer sport and I need some help here and, now.

I'll be glad to help-out in any way. Although I'm not SO-certified, I'm sure that I can help in other ways.

It is strange how lotsa folks will volunteer to tell you how to do the job, or will criticize you after you've struggled to do the job yourself. But when you ask them if they would like to assist, they suddenly have other commitments elsewhere.
Just human nature, I guess.

Looking at the big picture here I am going to put this off to the fall. We have some awesome drier weather in the fall/winter. Getting guns right now is just not going to happen and I am not lining the the prize table with gift certificates for dinners out in town. I have been working the prize table as I have done for the last couple of matches and I have had a total loss of contact with most of our sponsors. I am working with a couple big sponsors right now that could just make major changes in the table to be for the better and the best yet.

I will start a new post no later than April with a new request for help and get a new spread sheet rolling.

New projected date will be the last week in November.

Not an IDPA SO, but I would like to be one if you know how to get training.

Count me in to be an SO for at least one day. Once a date is established I can clear my calendar. Thanks for pushing this. I shot the state match in 2009 and had tons o' fun.

vetts1911: Everyone interested in IDPA does not follow this forum. You need to contact gunclubs like Noawiva in VA (they run IDPA), and Bridgeville Gun Club in DE. Each club has people that will be interested in helping.
