Just started paperwork on an M1A Standard today. Eight (or nine) days from now and I'll have my newest addition to the "family".:party29:

    Woot! Woot!

I picked mine up a week ago, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.
    I got four of these:

You might want to order some now: after October 1, you can't have them shipped to a Maryland address.

I also got ammo from Wideners:

I have not gotten a mag loader yet. I'm not sure if I'll get the LULA (I have 3 other LULAs), or try something different.

I just picked up my M1A last week as well. Have not had a chance to shoot it. Still need to get a few more mags and some ammo.

I got a NM from Vince as well. I cleaner her up and went to the AGC last weekend in the rain. Still had a blast. Only put about 70 rounds through it. My 11 year shot it twice. He then took over the bench with the 22's so I put the M1A away.
I need to order some 20's and a couple of 10's. Oh and more ammo.

I tried out those Korean mags from J & G Sales. I shot at least 5 rounds through each of the 10 I have. I also fully loaded and emptied one of them 10 times. Not one single problem.

At 19.95 each, definitely a great deal.

    I'm going to get more.

I have a bunch of Springfield 20rd mags due in next week, as well as a batch of the $20 Korean mags & a few USGI mags. We have Winchester & Norma .308 in stock at the moment, so if you guys are looking, drop on by. Thanks again for all the business MDS members have sent our way, we appreciate it greatly.

I put a couple or three coats of pure tung oil on mine.

I almost added a LULA to an Amazon order, then saw they wanted about $12 shipping just for the LULA. F that. I'll shop around.

Oh, by the way, if you're reading this, O'Malley-Frosh: My M1A has the shoulder thing that goes up! Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Flipped 'er over and did the other side.

Wipe the excess off after 20 minutes or less. Many coats, soaked in. I rub briskly with my hand to generate heat. If the stock is sticky after a half hour, you need to remove the excess. I use paper towels, which I tear up and flush down the toilet. Linseed and Tung oil on rags or paper towels can start a fire by spontaneous combustion. l
