New member here - but not new to shooting. Born and raised in Baltimore, Vietnam vet (Navy, 5yrs, 3mos., 3 days - but whose keeping count?) and bought my first gun in 1962 when I put $37.50 on the counter of a gun store in Parkville and walked out with a brand new Ruger MK1 22LR. A very simple transaction but things seem to have changed a little since then. Have applied for a HQL and waiting for the results - if I'm found legal I'll be looking for a Ruger MK4. Got out of shooting for a long time but came back via air guns - which for the most part are toys with lousy triggers. However the last one that I bought is not a toy - an AirVenturi AV-46M, a Russian made match grade 10 meter pistol which is a tack driver with an unbelievable trigger. Have become a member of the Continental Arms range . I've also taken down from the wall where its been hanging for many years a CVA single shot percussion muzzle loader that I built from a kit in the '70's (?) but have never fired. Are there any black powder groups around the Baltimore area? Looking forward to being a member of MDS and hearing what other members have to say - but from what I've seen there seems to be some strong opinions in this group.......

Marriottsville Muzzle Loaders is a member club of the AGC (Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore). If Black Powder is your thing, you might wish to contact them for information.

    Welcome aboard!
