Welcome. One line of my family has been on the Eastern Shore for well over 300 years but not on the same property.

    Welcome Newcomer,

My family, The Cherokee Peoples, has been here since before the first European ever set foot on the continent.

    Welcome Newcomer,

    But not in Maryland...

"Prior to the 18th century, they were concentrated in their homelands, in towns along river valleys of what is now southwestern North Carolina, southeastern Tennessee, edges of western South Carolina, northern Georgia and northeastern Alabama."

So technically speaking, his people may have gotten here before yours did. ;)

But you also said 'here'. :innocent0

I'm a newbie. My grandparents were all midwestern farmers that still spoke some German, so their parents or grandparents were probably part of the big 'wave' that happened in the late 1800's.
Ummm... The North American continent IS here. It is literally where we are.
