Another "sanctuary city" quagmire.
Wow! That was quite disturbing. I'm hoping that the officers that left due to safety brought back a whole lot of them and this didn't just go down with no pushback.
Holy Schnikies! Brown says new laws aren't the answer!

“What can laws do to solve immediate problems?” Brown said. “I want to say that laws have their role, but in terms of crime and guns and violence, we’ve been at this thing for more than 50 years on this very topic, and we’ve passed a tremendous number of laws. There is something else, it’s called administering the laws we have and working together in a community. That is where the greatest yield can be found in terms of making Oakland a safer place.”

Moonbeam, down to Earth now?!?!
Prepare for a hard right turn for Cali?!?!?
Yeah....a guy can dream, I suppose!
Seriously. Being a LEO, that was very painful to watch. I can understand not taking action immediately and bringing backup; it was obvious that one car, even if it was a 2 man unit, would be clearly overwhelmed.
That situation needed to be addressed.

I can't blame any officer for leaving that scene. He'd have to be completely nuts to get out of the cruiser,or a death wish. absolute shame
Oakland has always been a toiletbowl but the incursion of gangs caused by illegal immigration has made it worse.
I think most of the violent street gangs in America make their money from selling illegal drugs since they have total control of the black market thanks to prohibition. There's also no respect for authority which I think is another symptom of California's failed drug and gun policies.
