This has been covered so many tomes here that its getting ridiculous. No, the Governor can not change the. The law does not need to change in order to make change happen since the present law allows the Superintendent of the MSP to determine what constitutes G&S. The super works at the leisure of his boss (the Governor) so if the Governor pushes the super to accept personal defense as G&S, then yes, the Governor (indirectly) can bring about the change he promised.

How about if the gov declares due to all the recent threats, etc. all restrictions are void and encourages permit holders to carry. He has many trained individuals this would apply to. Then, after seeing no one is doing shootouts in the street, it could be argued the restrictions just are silly.

Seemingly promising one thing in private then not following up costs you elections.
seems like "seemingly" might be an important word in this sentence. but right, he's been worse on gun rights than Brown would have been.

Sure, that's why he's proposing a clone of the NYC {non-}licensing structure and banning all those assault pistols for the next MGA session. :innocent0

No one is talking about the 500 pound gorilla in the room in Baltimore City: it's the drugs. If they want to reduce crime, they need to focus on the real problem. Baltimore City is the heroin capitol of the U.S. Drugs are the engine driving the most of the crime in Baltimore. It makes one wonder why it isn't being addressed…..

Address it how? People want drugs - supply and demand. Most of the world's heroin comes from Afghanistan (90%). Afghanistan is very far away from Baltimore. Heroin addiction is very powerful. People are making a fortune on all sides of the drug trade. What is the motivation for dealing with the drug problem? And, the riots were actually very bad for business. It's hard to sling dope when there are 3000 extra security personnel standing on your dope spot.

I am tired of the drug debate. Let's ask the mga to legalize all drugs, sell them 100% pure and purge the problems in short order.

Anyone interested in Baltimore should watch HBO's "The Wire". It is a documentary. And that drug cheese gets pretty well spread out to both Annapolis and Washington. If you watched the Frosh videos, you will see the AG's office is intentionally working to keep violent gun offenders (most in the drug game) on the streets. Follow the money....

SRB said she knows who the "300" people are that are causing all of the trouble.

It does make one wonder why they aren't being arrested.

No need to wonder. They are deep in the game. Money is laundered through certain churches and businesses in the "community" that can deliver votes so these fools can keep their foney baloney jobs. Crime is part and parcel to doing business in politics.
