It's a huge deal to me, but I won't let those Mother ****ers in Annapolis have the satisfaction of knowing they stopped me from purchasing and/or transferring handguns. I'll play their game if that's what I have to do.

That's just it; the forms aren't available yet. Handguns are set to be banned from purchase starting October 1st because no one will have a license to purchase/transfer.

I think this whole HQL is total Bullsh*t but i don't see how depriving myself of the ability to buy more handguns is going to hurt Annapolis, I really think they could care less whether we get the HQL's or not. the background checks are at 100 days and regardless of our protests and bitching i don't think anyone outside of the gun enthusiast crowd really cares.

Exactly. Most are way too enveloped in the shallowest of conversation, texting, sports, internet porn, and video games to be bothered with fundamental, inalienable rights. Rights are way too old school for all of these modern geniuses.

Don't you know? The 2A is not necessary.

Its ok, MD is a WONDERFUL State. They let the Gays Marry, they want Drugs Legalized and they Tax the shit out of people who actually work.

I'll be getting the bull***t HQL and buy more guns. As far as the fingerprinting goes i think it's crap but i already have to be fingerprinted everytime i renew my Coast Guard license and TWIC/TSA credential so i'm no stranger to it, i just hate having to do it because MOM says so.

The MSP haven't released any details yet. We know we will require being fingered printed. We also know we are going to have to pay $50.00 and submitting an application but the details are still not known.

    Thanks

Not in a million years - I went severely into debt to buy all of the handguns (13 this year) and regulated (AR) rifles that I could ever want before this BS law goes into effect. For me it is not the fingerprinting that I am so opposed to - I have been fingerprinted on multiple occasions in my adult life (military, CCW, work, etc.). My issue is with the state-mandated fee that they are requiring in order for me to exercise my legal right. The state of MD can go F### themselves as far as I'm concerned. I'll buy all of my gun-related items and ammo out-of-state and screw MD on the taxes on those as well. I'm not from here, but live here for a job. I should be able to retire in 9 years and the moment I do, I am out of here. Pretty state, great for motorcycle riding, but that is about all it offers to me.

Interesting point... I wonder how many people who didn't support the referendum on the grounds of "not putting our rights up to a vote" don't have a problem giving up their prints and money for a "license to exercise" those same rights. That seems a bit hypocritical.

^^^^This^^^^ is why I won't get one what other right requires a license ?

I can see the value of having an overwhelming line on Oct 1 . I can see the value of litagation files Oct 2 over inability to actually get a HQL in a timely fashon.

I can also see at some point in the future of having value to appealing. To establish the legal parameters of long gun Open Carry.

But I do not intend to personally do any of the above.

I do feel sorry for young people who either aren't yet 21 , or under 23 or so who haven't had the time yet to aquire a decent battery of regulated/ banned firearms.

But it's not about how many other times you have been printed for other reasons. It's about volentarily surrendering your Rights in exchange for being granted a lesser Privledge.

Annapolis doesn't care what you do, MOM doesn't care what you do. They dont care that more AR15s are in our hands than would have been. Delays, paperwork, fingerprints, its a joke. What they care about is that they passed the laws and everybody SAW THEM PASS the laws. Their interest in any of this ended at that moment. The image of having done something. The outcome is completely irrelevant, period. It's about votes and therefore about money.

I will get mine but if you think overwhelming them will cause a fuss your stupid.

They want that so they can process less buying meaning less guns for citizens which is the main goal.

The way I look at it:

    We apply for HQL.

    They don't follow the law.

    We fuss.

    We file a Lawsuit.

It's not about making things difficult for the state. They did that to themselves. It's about proving a point and restoring our second amendment rights.

Will fingerprinting be required each time we buy a regulated firearm after Oct 1, or is only one set required?

    Not at this time.

I want an accomodation made so that, should you go through the rigamarole to get the HQL, you are provided a "credit" toward being issued a carry permit. Also, an exemption from future waiting periods.

OK... now you have me thinking. You know how dangerous that can be.

    :D

The possibilities of this intrigue me.

And wait and see what the next legislative session will shove up the A**es of marylanders...

And wait and see what the next legislative session will shove up the A**es of marylanders...

And if we're doing our jobs as citizens, the unprecedented 4,500 people from last session becomes 10,000, then 20,000, until they can't help but do the right thing.

Not directed at you, but I'm really getting tired of the "but it didn't work, so why try" attitude I see from so many here.

This is not a quick-fix solution! It's a process, and it takes commitment to the purpose.

We are up against entrenched philosophies and agents, who truly believe that infringement is better than empowerment, and that restrictions are more beneficial than freedoms.

They know we're here. Now to let them know we're not alone, and we're not going away.
