Covered about 4 miles today. Lots of bear sign, but no bear. Saw 7-8 does. Stopped and called in 5 spots. Now I’m all setup for the evening, going to just take a knee and be still for awhile. Might try to call right before sunset to see if anything will pop its head out the woodline.

Well my combo bear hunt , vacation with the wife and cabin work trip is in the books. As far as the bear hunting went I got to meet @Hibs and @Tomcat. Good guys and enjoyed their company. I was only able to hunt a couple times but the weather was nice and I always enjoy being in the woods. Didn’t see any bears while hunting but did see 4 ( mom and 3 cubs) on my street when leaving my cabin at 6:30 this morning. One year I swear I’ll hunt the whole season. I’ve been lucky and have had opportunities to hunt 4 or 5 seasons and have never been able to commit to the full season. Even when the season was only a few days.

My group got on the board with a ~250lb sow on the last evening. I'll tell you, we covered a lot of ground and I have a newfound hatred of mountain laurel thickets. A tough hunt for sure. According to the DNR agent, the season stats were:
    Total killed: 103
    Largest: 643
    Garrett: 78
    Allegheny: 8
    Washington: 12
    Frederick: 5
    Archery Kills: 3

Cool to say that ours was with a bow.
