Greetings All,
New member from Annapolis, Anne Arundel.
By way of a short introduction, I grew up around firearms primarily through hunting, which was the main source of my families food growing up. I have been comfortable with rifles my whole life, graduating from the bb gun to the .22 to the 30-30 (with which I was blessed to get my first, and last, six-point with) to, finally, my grandfather's .300 Savage, which helped put quite a bit of food on the table in my teenage years.
Since then perhaps a typical story. Went to college, went to grad school, got married. Moved to the east coast. Never paid much attention to gun control, because I always thought I would be able to get what I want, when I wanted it.
Circumstances & politicians have a way of changing expectations.
Fast forward to now, where I have purchased a firearm, but am waiting on my local FFL to spend the time to fax his license to my seller, so I can get on a 7 (re: three week) waiting list, to maybe get a handgun that will be banned before I can take possession.
This looks like a great, knowledgable, and thoughtful community. I look forward to contributing what I can. Letters are being sent daily to all of my local, state, and federal representatives.
