There are 3 letters on the brand side. A K H
The opposite side has a K and what I guess is a proof mark?
The letter M inside a rounded edge triangle
    The receiver is
    serial number #########V

I think the AK is the date code, the H is some sort of assembly number.

AK would be March 1963. In that case, your serial number should start with a number and not a letter.

The “V” at the end of the serial number just means 2 3/4” 12 gauge, so everyone’s will have that.

Yes serial # begins with number

Shout out to South Carroll Sporting Goods in Woodbine for the smooth transfer!

Just got it, I’m super happy. The metal looks way better than I was expecting. The worse thing I can say about it is that the stock was cracked and repaired (looks like a big chunk broke off from the wrist).

    Pics with zero clean up:

I have an 870 speedfeed stock that needs a home, might stick it on this one. But I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a wood 870 stock. If anyone is replacing their wood stock lmk, I’d be interested in buying it.

Hey Alphabrew, it looks awesome. Metal is very nice. Got mine too. What do I got? Looks old, with lots of character, right? I'm a happy dude!

    The End!

That looks awesome! I love the lack of recoil pad. Date code looks like BK which is Jan 1963. JFK was President, that’s wild.

Eta: actually I’m wondering if the date code is the KH part which is May 1961. You have three letters which makes it confusing, I think one of them is an assembly number, either the first digit or the last digit.

I got the same barrel codes and wondered the same. I assumed the third was assembly also but not sure
