Does it say M14's are banned? Fulton's are marked M14 not M1A, M1A is a Springfield Armory copywrited designation. As far as I know all other M14 manufacturers such as LRB also use M14.
Also, the L1A1 was a licensed copy of the FN FAL. I agree with Bill that it's a hell of a stretch, given the wording in the list (which isn't specific).
This Fulton Armory very similar to Polytech only quality. Have submitted request to MSP. Pricing seems ridiculous though.
I didn't know Springfield made all of these so I checked. They made all of them but the G3, They didn't make the G3, they sold a SAR3 or a SAR8.
AG is the one that defined copy.
I thought that many of the inch parts will not drop into the metric rifles. Some would, but not all. Can you thread an inch barrel into a metric upper?
I know the mags are different.
Springfield imported a few Greek SARs that were marked "G3."
Please, please, please, do not say stuff like this unless you have sat down with a true FN FAL and a Century Arms L1A1 and tried to switch out every internal component and see if the weapon functioned. There are various internal components of the L1A1 that will NOT function in a metric FAL and vice versa.
Please, do NOT submit random firearms to the MSP, ESPECIALLY if you do not have a legitimate, thorough argument that it is not banned. We are our own worst enemy sometimes. There is a lot at stake here and actions have consequences.

For now and until we hear otherwise, the M14 does not meet the banned language; i.e., it is not an M1A copy (completely interchangeable parts) nor is it a Copy Cat long gun. Again, until MSP tells us otherwise, we will sell this firearm as a cash-n-carry long gun.Would Fulton's M14 be a go?
Yes, barrels are fully interchangeable between metric and "inch". Bolt internals can not swap, but complete bolts and carriers can. Metric mags will work in inch-cut receivers, but not vice-versa. Hammer/Trigger/Sear groups are different, but the complete lower Trigger Housing will swap between patterns. All "major" components are completely interchangeable, even if not every individual part is.
The Threads are almost all exactly the same. A few are different, and most of those are different type of wood screws to go into the stock. The term "inch" is a mis-nomer. The threads were not re done in inch patterns. "Inch" was simply shorthand to designate the FAL derivative that was used by Commonwealth countries.
Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to be able to purchase L1A1 marked receivers. In fact, I have some very sad and lonely inch kits that could use some receivers. I just don't see that going through. Hell, I'll be more than happy to make the argument FOR the differences to the state. I just wouldn't get your hopes up.
AG letter states that all the internal parts must swap and have the firearm function. Swapping the lower to fit the FCG is not swappable internal parts.
Same with the bolt internals.

Sir, this applies SOLELY to M14s with non interchangeable components. The Fulton gun is an Assault Long Gun banned in Maryland. Selling such is illegal within this state. Also, this has to do with copies, not copycat firearms.
This is really good advice. It seems that Engage is doing most of this work. Is there another group that folks should submit there requests to in order to have them properly submitted?
