      NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Course

I certainly don’t have an issue with people exercising their 2nd Amendment rights if they have a language barrier. I’m just not aware of any of the programs that we have referred to having a non-English course available. I know a fluent Spanish speaking NRA Training Counselor and will ask him...

      NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Course

Here are some answers: 1. A person does not have to have taken the NRA Basic Pistol or Basic rifle courses to be able to take the Instructor level courses. But, there is a Pre-Qualification for each in which the Instructor candidate must demonstrate proficiency with firearms. There is a...

      NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Course

You’ll enjoy the course and get your money’s worth. Ben is an excellent Instructor and probably has more time in front of basic classes than anyone else in Maryland (other than folks that make their living doing this). Come early, come prepared. You will be amazed at how your time management...

      Carroll County Practical Pistol Association.

I’m Vice President at Mayberry. Most there know that I’m an action pistol shooter (when time allowed). I haven’t heard anything about this, and nothing has come before the Board, so I presume this will be on someone’s private land and not at MGPA. I don’t think that I will be able to make...

      After market Glock barrels

I have a KKM .40 S&W conversion barrel that I run in a Glock 20. It drops in with no mods and use the stock 10mm mags. I’ve run more than several thousand rounds through it without any problems. I shot it for several years in IDPA. I’d highly recommend a KKM barrel. Matt G

      Arden on the Severn

I grew up in Arden. I lived in Sections 1, 5 and 2 (in that order) from 1956 until 1984. My Mother In Law and Brother In Law still live in Section 5 as well as friends on Sunrise Beach Road. I visit on an irregular basis as it’s a long drive down from Westminster.

      Competitive caliber

I’ve run a Glock 20 with a KKM .40 S&W conversion barrel in IDPA without any function issues (several thousand rounds using stock 10mm magazines). IDPA rules meant that I had to shoot in ESP instead of SSP because Glock doesn’t offer their largest frame pistol in .40 S&W configuration. Matt...

Firearms safety and personal protection in the home ?

The NRA PPITH and PPOTH both require either an attorney or “certified” LEO. The NRA Instructor manual has a section that addresses the specific information to be covered. Matt Guilfoyle NRA Certified Firearms Instructor – Basic Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, PPITH, PPOTH and Refuse to Be A Victim...

      Why is Training So Expensive

To those that think that basic and advanced firearms training is expensive, you’re right, to an extent. If you want training to be available at a much lower cost, I have some suggestions. First, become a certified firearms instructor. Obtain the requisite insurance and all the required...

      Why is Training So Expensive

I’d suggest that you look at the cost involved. If the classes you are quoting are at the IWLA #1 in Frederick, you’re pretty must looking at what it cost to put on a class. There is not much (if any) meat left on that bone. You’re looking at the cost of the facility (it ain’t free and you...

      NRA Instructor Instruction

I'm an NRA certified Instructor (multiple disciplines) and recently took one of Michael's classes (great job!). I would definitely be interested in a MSP instructor forum to ensure that we will be in a position to get ahead of the training deadlines and are able to provide the best class...

      Recommendations for IDPA Training

The group in Thurmont requires a new shooter class (held at noon before the matches) that includes some very good basic tips on skills for IDPA for first time attendees. In addition to basic range and IDPA rules, there is some good info on drawing and firing from a holster. Also, although...
