Glad to help :) There are a lot of good belts out there nowadays. V-Tac and Grunt Gear make a couple of good MOLLE belts. I went with a Safariland belt and Eagle belt pad used in the EE on M4C. They've help up pretty well so far, but I don't do anything too crazy - a couple of training classes...
OP,
If all you need right now is a way to carry your magazines while at the range have you considered running them off of a belt? You can always look at armor later on down the road if you decide you need it. This would also give you the option of donning your magazines without your armor...
damionkarp,
I see what you're getting at and you've got a point, but as somebody who tries to practice situational awareness on a daily basis I am going to (hopefully) notice and take into account the presence of a firearm in a non-range/gunshow environment or the presence of a firearm that...
Continue profiling him. There are many other factors that would go into determining whether or not he poses a threat to me. IE, what setting we are in, how he is carrying his firearm (in his hand or holstered/slung), his facial expression & body language, his adherence to firearms saftey rules...
If anybody is interested, there is a guy who posts regularly on M4C and Pistol-Forum and is conducting a 2,000rd test on a Hi-Point 9mm handgun right now.

I carry IWB at about 12:30-1:00 with a Cane & Derby Pardus Appendix holster. I usually only practice my draw stroke dry since the range that I frequent doesn't allow drawing from the holster, but I practice slide-lock reloads pretty often both live and dry. I carry everywhere that I legally can...
I was issued a pistol and still didn't receive any formal training on it. In fact, the first time I got to fire it was during an Iraq deployment. During this range session the trigger spring broke and I found out that the barrel was worn out as well :sad20: Good thing I never had to fire it when...
They advocate a 100yd zero, but don't have a problem with you using the zero of your choice as long as you are proficient with it. I ran a 50yd/200m zero and had no problems.

As others have already said, it is an excellent choice. I concealed a full-sized 1911 in a Supertuck for a couple of years and am now concealing my Glock 19 in one as well.
There is a link on this page to the new chart that Rob completed earlier this year. Manufacturers were asked to participate. Some chose to and others chose not to, but all specs you see listed were submitted to Rob by the manufacturers.
For the charts to really be meaningful, though, you...
I really enjoy Small Arms Review. They have a lot of articles and interviews that most gun rags don't cover. They mainly cover historic and NFA firearms and conduct interviews with very interesting people such as Reed Knight, Jim Sullivan, Phil Dater, etc.
You are right about HK getting the IAR contract. The Marine Corps has no contracts with LWRC that I know of.
OP, you sound like you plan on using this carbine a lot (classes, competition, etc.). My advice would be a DI in 5.56 due parts and ammunition price/availability. Get a quality AR (LMT...
