Okay, let me get this straight, the 40 isn't a whole lot better for take down than the 9mm. The 45 well I know thats a horse,slow but effective. How about the 357 sig compare in the bunch,in laymans terms.

Your gonna need someone else to chime in on that one. I really have no info on the ..357 SIG. It has never interested me due to its limited availibility in store shelves, and its high cost.

Its gonna be hard to get an honest answer because the .357 Fanboys are worse then the .40 and 10mm combined. Completely delusional.............

The only real benefit to the 40 S&W is:

When there is a run on ammo, like the Obama-scare. There will be a fair amount of 40 S&W to be found.

That is one of the reasons I was going to get one. Over the last two years - every time I went to Wal-Mart they had .40 cal ammo in stock.

When I asked why, they said because the military has the ammo makers making it 24-7 so there is plenty of it around. I knew better.

You can swap out a .40 barrel for a .357SIG barrel pretty easily so you'll have more options in a single handgun, which is good because when I do see .357SIG ammo (which isn't all that often), it's pricey.

In theory, the 357SIG penetrates better than either the 9mm or .40 which means that you can more easily penetrate barriers but run the risk of overpenetrating your target. As with all things, it's about compromises.

I hear the muzzle flash/blast from the .357SIG is pretty impressive, but I haven't fired one myself so YMMV.

Its a gay round.

It is between a 9mm and a 45. The Military never adopted it.( because it is openly gay) It is a toned down 10mm designed for limpwristed shooters who cant handle recoil or muzzle blast.
It starts out supersonic, then quickly drops to transonic, then subsonic. It is prone to bullet flutter and screwed up accuracy. It presents itself as a big bore, but act like a 22LR.

We also can afford to be insensitive about some remarks due to fact the most of us here are good friends. We treat each other like brothers. We are comfortable enough as friends to Dis each other without being offended.

Clandestine and I are known to dislike this round. For personal reasons. Not because we have an agenda to promote.
