Update. I’ve had the interview. It went well. She said she is rooting for me.

Have to send in documentation for anti depressants I was prescribed right before having my son to prevent postpartum and I just continued them. So I have to get documentation for that.

That happened to me, my doc wrote a script for anti anxiety meds, (I was going through a nasty divorce) I told doc I didn't want or need them. I NEVER FILLED the RX,,, they needed a letter from doc. They filled it out, wanted doc to date and sign.

She told me she had a form she will email me which I have yet to receive. And I have to send that form to my dr and have her fill it out. Seems unfair because if my dr is against 2A then she may refuse to fill it out

Also sending her a video I have of being screamed at. So that’ll help.

That is par for the course, very rarely have they refused a W&C for DV (yes, it has happened, but odds are in your favor).

Welcome to MDS, feel free to jump in on any other threads that interest you, or ask questions. And feel free to be snarky on occasion, it helps with some of the monotony of having to fight for our rights in this state.

    I’m hoping for the best.

as for chiming into conversations on threads I probably won’t do that much, I’m usually a lurker on forums this is probably the first thread I’ve ever started in my life

Not to be too pessimistic but having sat through many Handgun Permit Review Board meetings and talked to the Maryland State Police (MSP) about delays, lifting of restrictions, etc., nobody knows how long you will wait. The MSP-driven permitting people have drug their feet on lots of these things, and now they have COVID-19 as an excuse for even more delay. I'd use this time to go shooting with people you trust, and get some good online video training on weapons safety, concealed carry techniques, etc. If you already have the handgun you'll carry, buy snap caps and get a good dry-fire training routine going. You'll be well-trained by the time that permit arrives.

I had the female in westminster,

    (a) she must have been a cop at 14,,, it surprised me how young she appeared.

    (B) she IS TOUGH,,, but fair. Her stance with me was "I saw this all the time when I was active, someone comes between the son and his meal ticket, especially when she is afraid of him" She said she assumed it probably wouldn't be good for her to talk to the ex girl friend (his mother). So she didn't. She asked me 3 or 4 times if I smoked weed,, as she was aware of weed in the home. Believe it or not,,, I have never even taken a puff.
They called all my references the first day.

You must have caught her on a good day, everyone I know that has had their interview with her has been put through the wringer. She wanted a letter from the bank verifying that the pastor of our church was authorized to make deposits for the church. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

The woman I had was definitely fairly young. I only knew because I did some investigation of my own. Clearly I had a phone interview and not face to face. When she called it showed up as a la plata/Waldorf phone number of area code 301 which I found strange. I just assumed it would be a district near me but i wouldn’t know since i do not know anyone personally who’s been through this. She was great. asked basic questions and commented on my situation. It felt very personal rather than my 2A being attacked

It was less than 3 weeks from when I applied to when I did my interview. My application is considered urgent. So I’m no longer concerned about the time frame.
I have several hand guns. I do shoot when I have the free time which isn’t super often since I’m a mother, essential personnel, and a grad student. But thanks for the input.

This epidemic is making people realize the importance of the 2A. Now that face masks are becoming mandatory, we should start really pushing more leniency on the issuence of concealed carry permits. I don`t want to be put in a position of having to choose to carry illegaly, or be a victim, if robberies and assaults become a common occurance.

Yup, my doc said guns were for police only. ,"its the job of police to protect us" I asked where the cops were when I was looking at the working end of a 12ga? I educated her that even though most cops will put their life on the line to stop a crime,,, by law,,, their job is only to bring bad guy to judge. I had her as a PCP for more than 18 years, that method of health care lead me to change my PCP. BEST PART,,,, I NEVER got into my appointments on time with clinical associates,, NEVER!!! Now my new doc,, I think the latest I got in was about 5 mins late. Usually right on time. I drive extra far for my apps, but MUCH HAPPIER with the care I receive!

45 days for my permit to be issued from the time the check was cashed. Good luck!

My permit was ready 3 DAYS after I dropped my forms off at Pikesville. They CAN get it done quickly, if they see fit.

Here is something else to consider,, go to Sheriffs office in PA,, (I went to Adam's county) you will see how fast it can be done in the free world. Walk in, do forms, take picture, in 10 mins walk out with non resident PA. I currently have MD wear and carry, Utah and PA non resident permits. I am GTG in 30+states.

Clinical Associates pissed me off to the point I switched to a PCP with amazing hair.
The weekly virtual/video prostate exams are worth the change.
SPECIAL NOTE- Jlynne2/OP- once you hit 50 posts, the Water Cooler forum will become visible to you and this will sort of make sense. There is a LOT of MDShooters stuff the general public is unaware of. Most recently, we have a top NIH Virologist posting info and even most longtime members are unaware of who he is.

I think you're sharing too much information here.

My PCP has amazing hair as well! I'm not sure who enjoys the weekly prostate exams more, the doc, or the patient! Lol
