Several things that need to be asked:

What is Sgt Bonnell's purpose and reason for sitting at the table? He isn't the investigating trooper in most of the cases.

Why isn't the investigating trooper present for those appeals that come before the HPRB?

Who is the third trooper and his purpose at the table?

Applicants have been required to introduce their witnesses for the record, why doesn't MSP have to do the same for all three at the table?

If Sgt Bonnell and the other trooper have had nothing to do with the applicant's application, why and how can they testify for MSP?

It would be interesting for an applicant that is appealing their denial, request the board excuse and not permit those MSP employees who have had no direct activity on the permit application, to testify on behalf of MSP for that permit appeal.

    Explain the hypocracy above ^

You complain that the current administration is infringing on 2A rights...

And then you say you "have no problem" with the Sign-Up Sheet infringement on personal privacy...

So which is it? Your ox not being gored is how you roll?

How I roll is I do not sweat the small stuff in life. To me, signing in to attend a public meeting is small stuff.

I'm surprised you all don't advocate wearing bandannas over your faces so the MSP can't catch a glimpse from their secret surveillance cameras.

I don't complain about the current administration infringing on 2A rights (at least not yet). I complain about the current administration not using their administrative power to undo the infringement caused by previous administrations.

How you "roll"? I didn't see you "roll" into the meeting room last night. When's the last time you "rolled" the dice and applied for a permit, attended an HPRB meeting or "rolled" with the Patriot's Picket?

Why would I want to "roll" into an HPRB meeting? I read these threads every couple weeks and they seem like depressing meetings to attend. Give me some good reasons to attend, especially since I do no eat donuts.

Why would I spend several hundred dollars to apply for a MD permit with a next to zero chance of getting one? I can spend $50 on a SC permit in 2 years and will most likely have that permit before I am ever finished with the MD process. Again give me good reasons to roll the dice and apply.

Exactly. If you don't have the fortitude to fight beside us all, then zip it and go back to trying on your tacticool airsoft goods.

Frankly, someone has to "sweat the small stuff" because the history we see in Maryland is that the Infringers use Bush League moves as building blocks for larger infringements that become entrenched.

It's difficult to read posts from someone on OUR SIDE criticizing work to restore basic freedom.

Especially when you won't help us.

I've got plenty of angst to go around. ;)

I feel Montoya's frustration, those of us that do get a little worn out by those of us who only snipe from a keyboard......

Not really frustration, more like tired of weak individuals who don't take this seriously enough to put ANYTHING on the line. Time, money or effort would help. Some put it all on the line while others put it on the couch and like to critique he efforts and motives between handfuls of popcorn.

Putting it all on the line will be when I walk through my neighborhood and see 'Vote For Mr. X' signs instead of 'For Sale By Mr. X' signs.

I had this same discussion last night. Several times. It would be something i'd advise an applicant to do... if i had the opportunity to advise an applicant.

As far as the extra sign sheet, I have never provided more than my name & home town. No phone or email. No one has ever said anything, or seemingly even noticed. Montoya32, I didn't notice that Jenny, LOL.

As to something Jaybeez said, room acoustics seem to be a strong function of where you sit. The other side seemed to have an AC vent directly over the audience seating, I never could hear anything except wind roar. Last night there was almost no ambient noise where we were, but the chairman seemed to be in the AC "cone of silence" and asked the guard at the back of the room to turn it off so he could hear.

PS was the room guard/sign in list guy MSP or something else, maybe DPSCS? His badge was different from the MSP officers.

I was told he was MSP, but moonlighting or doing an optional assignment for $.
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the person that spoke to him will chime in.

So isn't posting in these threads about these meetings even smaller stuff? Or you're doing so to share your erudition and wit?

He seems like a good guy. I understand he is on a Warrant Enforcement Task Force (not sure from which agency) by day, and an Associate Cat Herder every first and third Tuesday night. Seriously, I don't envy his day duty, and sounds like he is just trying to pick up a few hours of OT when he isn't being shot at or having to deal with a**h*les.

Not sweating the small stuff, and not paying any attention to the "insignificant" bills is how we got here. Paying attention to all of the small stuff and working to change things one "Insignificant" bill at a time is how we will get will get out of it.
