Are you guys just filling out the "RMA Request" on EoTech's website? If so, what are you putting in the box that asks for a "description of failure"?

I would use this if it were mine:

Optic is an overpriced piece of crap that kills batteries like a high voltage sex toy and holds a zero like an NCstar Optic. Your engineers, marketing, and production staff should be proud.

Maybe it's time to make the switch to AC. Save the battery powered ones for when ''the lights go out''.:D

I put that I zero'd the sight at an indoor range and experienced a large POI shift when shooting in cold weather outdoors. They approved it no questions asked.

They received my 512 the first week of December. I just got an email from them yesterday saying they received it and are processing my refund check. Just to give you an idea how slammed they are.

What are they giving for a refund? I saw 3 at the timonium show today for $350.
    Are they commonly faked?

I am going to send back my Eotech HHS1 (which has the red dot plus magnifier) back to them for a refund. I just got the E-mail from them with authorization to send it back because it would not hold zeroing. My question for you guys is this. Should I get another HHS 1 or is there another equivalent that is just as good or better? I'm thinking that perhaps Aimpoint or Trijicon might have an alternative for me? Thanks for the advice.

I read something earlier today that there was a snag due to the fact that EoTech promised full refunds without getting the approval from L3.

Trying to find the article again.... Found it. Larry Vickers posted a message on his FB page on 1/15.

My 553 mfg 12/06 was sent back 12/23/2015 for "significant zero shift in cold weather". I got a "received and processing your check" email 1/15.

Although I love the reticle, mine had occasionally turned itself off from recoil, making it a range toy only. Glad to replace it, though I haven't decided what will take its place.

    consequences

This is the kind of thing that should ban them from the govt. contracting business. And we civi's should ban them for f'ing with our operators. Never seems to be any meaningful punishment for screwing the govt.

Your so right...this does piss me off. Just....pay a fine, and move on. During the 80's, and 90's, all those wall street guys just..paid a fine and walked away, or did a year or 2 at Club Fed. Gimme 25-$100 million, and I WILL DO A FEW YEARS at Club Fed...hahahaha

I still find it hard to believe that Michael Milken paid a BILLION, yes, that is $1,000,000,000 Fine, and still gave his wife $250,000,000 to hold..hahahah A BILLION DOLLAR FINE!!!:lol2:

I'm trying to make that decision as well. It looks like one similarly large viewable area and reticle devise has been discontinued (according to optics planet) by the manufacturer--the MSA

What do you guys think about Trijicon ACOG's and RMR's? Or is AimPoint a better buy?

Also, do we know if Eotech has fixed all their problems with their holographic sights or are they still suspect?

    Thanks.

Still waiting for a RA for my EXPS2-0. They must really be backed up at this point.

If they had a fix, I seriously doubt they would be giving refunds.
