put over 3000 rounds through my lc9s this year. (the pro version came out 2-3 months after i bought mine). No problems at all and the trigger definitely spoils you. Has eaten ALL the ammo i've put through it. (one rusty reload from a friend had a failure to extract but i probably shouldn't have been shooting that anyways given the condition of the round). On two occasions after shooting about 250-300 rounds at the range the slide did not lock to rear after last round. very isolated issue which did not concern me and did not continue while i shot more rounds on those occasions. Ruger sold me on this thing, it has just been an awesome handgun. Been contemplating picking the pro model up as a safe queen. Can't go wrong with the Ruger.

The HK USP? Why not try a Walther PPS? Great carry pistol and same mag release you have with the USP.
There's also a new, curvier PPS out now but with a button mag release (the PPS M2). Don't know if they've improved the trigger.
The PPS is a .380, not a 9mm. Besides being less effective than a 9mm, .380 ammo is more expensive.

The PPS is a 9mm pistol, occasionally in 40 S&W. The famous PPK is sometimes chambered in 380.

    P938 (I want one).

    .50 Desert Eagle...

    But...
    Glock 43...

Better for EDC... And if I find myself needing to defend myself or others with a small EDC handgun... I DO NOT WANT a trigger with a half mile of pull, and a long reset between shots. No one should be using a long DAO trigger pull as their "control" in a self defense shooting situation. If you MUST shoot... Do it quick and accurate. If you don't NEED to shoot... Your finger should NOT be pulling on that trigger anyway. Your finger should control the trigger... NOT be controlled by it.

I have both guns. The LC9S is the better shooter IMO. Better trigger by far. Sights are small but, not that bad. Kind of a PIA to disassemble but, otherwise I think it's the better gun. The 43 is nice but, the trigger is heavy and sharp and it's very "snappy" when shooting it. LC9S is much smoother shooter.

I was going to get a Shield but decided on an XDs after I tried both. Plus the XDs has a rail.

Many of us that had Shields dumped them in favor of the G43.
I am surprised to hear this. Every review I've seen so far, has favored the Shield. I love my Glock 43. But only after a few upgrades. I am in fact, a self proclaimed Glock fanboy. The Ruger Lc9s pro, is supposed to have the best trigger. But the Shield is supposed to be the softest shooter. I just ordered a Performance Center shield, for the wife. It will be interesting to see how they stack up. With the Ghost 4.5 connector, my 43 has one of the best triggers, I've ever felt. Food for thought, I guess.

Will be interested in your appraisal. I'm not interested in the Sig 938 (have the Sig 238, which is fine, but not so enamored to get the larger sibling). However have been thinking about the Ruger 9S Pro, Shield, or PPS (M1 or M2) as a summer gun. I'll likely try several at one of the nearby indoor ranges with rentals in the coming month or two.

I like Heritage's mix and match rental specials (the ones in the pic below will return on a rotation).

Hey Fidelity, with you on the guns - I too have the P238 and PPS 9mm (love both), do not want a P938 (no need) and I also currently have a no-safety Shield with Apex trigger (required) and HD night sights. But in regards to your summer gun, you have a typo there - I believe you meant the PPQ M1 or M2, not a PPS M1 or M2. As you said before, the PPS comes in 9mm or .40, but there is no M1 or M2 version as far as I know. I happen to own a PPQ M2 (mag safety), but wish it was the M1 (trigger guard safety) - I happen to like the European/HK-style trigger guard mag releases.

Check out walther's site. They just released a M2 version for the PPS. They did away with the European mag release and the pic rail. They also changed the grip. It looks like a mini PPQ now.

The Walther PPS is most certainly NOT a .380. Its a 9mm. Maybe you're mixed up with a PPK?
