CB we could always use another person here in the asylum. Just remember that we as gun owners have been under attack for awhile now here in MD and tend to get a little feisty with each other at times. Just do not admit to being a 40S&W shooter that seems to be a sacrilege and will start a caliber war on how come you do not shoot 9mm or 45ACP. Just think of the insanity that will ensue when you hit 50 post the Water Cooler is all that and a bag of chips .

I once considered suggesting a Ladies' equivalent to the Water Cooler, but thought better of it.

I figured calling it the "Powder Room" might be confusing...

MSI would benifit from having a wider base of support... such as more women.

"Let's do the right thing" and make our mothers, daughters & sisters feel welcome on MD Shooters and in our 2A fight.

Every single member here has been offended, in some way or another, by what others have posted here, at some point.

My personal solution has been to grow a thicker skin, and get used to the fact that the universe, and all the people in it, weren't created just so I can feel "comfortable".

Please understand... Just like most women don't desire to grown a bead, we also have no desire to grow a "thicker skin."

Excuse me sir... But I think you are missing the bigger picture:

Maryland residents are in a serious battle to secure our 2A rights.

We can not afford to alienate female shooters. We need more 2A activists.

We need MORE mothers, daughters & sisters to not only become shooters, but to be active "MDShooters" On Line and in our House (of Representatives) & Senate.

I think YOU are missing the point of what Mr. Ban Hammer is saying. There will not be a creation of a subsection that further separates gun owners and divides us by gender or race.

We are not alienating female shooters, we welcome them into our asylum and if they don't have a thick enough skin, then they shouldn't be complaining in the first place about things they take offense to , that are truly insignificant in the grand scheme of everything. When I became a member, I took my lumps and got slammed a few times until my skin got thicker. Once I "grew up", the members here accepted me as if I was always here. I have met some great people because of this forum, and I am grateful for the good times we all have had.

You might want to stop and think about this: You can not change something that works very well. The playing field on this forum is level enough for anybody who wishes to join us. All they have to do is take their lumps just like everybody else does. Think of it as an initiation. Most people never realize they are being hazed, but then others see it and get pissy. When you get pissy, you attract attention. When you attract attention, this thread is what happens.

You may think you are standing up for women all over MD for this, but what you don't realize is that there are lots of women who actively post on here, yet they rarely "come out" and say they are female.

We are not going to be separated by gender, nor race. We all need to be ONE voice in Annapolis and DC. That is the reason why we are here.

This is what it is all about. A sense of community.

I may not like some of the things Bart says, but in the end, we still have respect for each other, because we have banded together for a common cause.

We have members that are men, women, gay, straight, old, young and Lou.

I'm willing to bet there are a few women members here that post regularly that we don't know about.....that sneak in under the radar because they want to be known as members first and not defined by their gender.

Maybe you should have asked her why she needs/wants a "Ladies" section.

If you are worried about segregating stuff, then why do we have Rifle, Handgun, Shotgun sections. Aren't they all the same?

CyberBat, please don't judge all of us here by some of the posts in this thread. I for one, would love to see a lot more women get involved in shooting. So why and for what purpose would you want a woman's section?

Include engineers in that group and I'm in.

And maybe we should look at why they would even need to take that approach. This thread is kind of emphasizing our sexist side.

i know her personally.. she is a hardcore 2a as any members that went to Annapolis to fight.

here's the problem with most of the people here.. you are quick to judge on what the intentions is.

i may have taught the OP.. and help teach with Jaq as one of the helpers with Women on Target classes. You can assure.. if you asked all the women the question why they wanted to take the Women on Target class instead of coed handgun class. All pretty much will respond the same answer.

Just my 2 cents.
