I'm pretty sure its illegal to be cutting any live shrubbery on public lands, kind of an ******* thing to do during hunting season anyways. The time to do that was a few weeks prior.

So crunching it under my boot is legal? There are no paths and no stands in the particular area I am at. Not worried about other hunters.

Took this girl Monday evening about 6:30. Was only in the stand about 10 minutes when her and two buddies walked up behind me. Fifteen minutes later she gave me a perfect broadside shot. My first hunt of the year. I am very happy!

On public WMA, you cannot cut down any trees or bushes or whatever. Its only on private propety. I am dying to go bow hunting. I have all the tools. went couple times five or so years ago, as a total rookie. working 6 days a weeks, off only on sundays and only access is public lands, hunting has become impossible. so jealous of all of you....happpy hunting

I had a half dozen does and at least that many fawns on my trail cam until opening day. The farm across the road sounds like a war zone from all the gunfire (yeah, I know) and I have not a single deer on my camera for the last 3 days. The old boy who owns it said he has a dozen relatives who hunt his property, and you would assume they would at least stick to bows during archery season, but it certainly doesn't sound that way. I expect they're not sighting in their firearms at 7am on a Saturday..

Could be crop damage permits? Regardless stinks your not seeing deer anymore.

I doubt it. They raise primarily tobacco. They put a little corn here and there, but I think just to feed deer..I've never seen them harvest it.

I saw a grand total of 5 Deer yesterday evening. I had 4 on the edge of the field at 7:15pm about 200 yards away and one standing in the neighbors yard ( as usual ) just after dark. Not seeing many Deer at the farm yet just same old resident everyday Deer that have been there all Summer.

Showed up at 6am today to squirrel hunt and saw some deer in the field. Stalked within 35 yards and shot one. We let it lay while we squirrel hunted till 815. Unfortunately it was found already.

With a gut shot like that I would have left it behind too. Did you find your field tag ? Maybe check the local taxidermy shop for it. I can't believe you would even let the animal lay out in these temps. I will assume the meat is of no value just the antler. sad. really sad.

Before you make yourself look stupid think about the angle of the shot. Also use done sense and think about the temperature at 6am-830am.......53 degrees. Then think about the proper way procedure when you shoot the deer less then perfect. You always wait otherwise you chance pushing that deer miles down the road. I know your a master hunter and all but for Christ sakes don't be such a dick.

looks like it caught the last rib...but I would have taken care of the deer before a squirrel...that's just me...

I just don't get the rush to push a deer. When we found it the body was still warm. If we would have looked after 30min that deer would have never been found I 100% guarantee.
