    Spot on.

I am foreign by birth, but AMERICAN by choice.

I gravitated towards the Second Amendment because IMO, legal ownership of a firearm is tangible proof of freedom.

I know firsthand how it feels to not be free. Been there, done that, and i'll be damned if i sit idle watching our Freedom , my country- America ,get assaulted.

I am a citizen of The United States of America.. I have no other allegiances to any other Nation.Where im originally from is irrelevant, what matters is what i am right now. I am an American. I am free and own enough tangible proof of that in ordnance steel.

I apologize if my hyphenating offended anyone. I don't normally do that.

I respect how Americans who are of Asian lineage represent Gun Owners I had to show a distinction to relay what I was saying.

Like a previous poster this immediately reminded me of the Korean store owners protecting their businesses during the Rodney King riots. What could be more American than hard working responsible citizens using their 2A rights to protect themselves against tyrants?

Well, I know I've hoisted a few with some Asian-American members here. And I also know there are more than a few Korean-American gun owners in my neighborhood, most of them small business owners. And also quite a few down at Continental every time I go on the range there. So I don't really think of Asian-Americans as anti-gun, more the opposite. Of course, my favorable opinion is helped along by the fact that a lot of Asian girls are so hot they make my teeth hurt, especially when they're standing on the line with a 9mm. But I guess that's getting off topic.

And THAT is all that counts, you are correct AMERICAN. Americans look like the rest of the world actually. White, black, yellow, short, fat long & tall. No one ethnicity is "American".

Sorry, now that the cat is out of the bag.... threads like this are stupid, divisive and no need for the hyphenated ******** we see every day.

    I am Korean.

I was in LA during the 1992 riots and that's when i got into guns. My first purchase was a M1 carbine for $200 IBM 1942 .

When people ask me why I have so many weapons and ammo I tell them my experience during the riot.

just wondering.. it seems like Asian Americans fit into several categories of stereotypes and anti gun seems to be one of many... are there any Asian gun owners on MD shooters? (Koreans, Chinese, Indian, etc.. doesnt matter)

Every time I go to the NRA Range, I'm reminded how guns transcend every group we are encouraged (by politicians) to categorize ourselves into. That's what makes politicians so scared about 2A.

Everyone is there just doing what they love. It's awesome.

    [insert ethnicity] love guns!

    I'm half Chinese.

In my experience: almost all Koreans and Vietnamese in the US are pro-2A, most Chinese and SE Asians are, and almost all Filipino or Japanese are against guns (this list is centered around oriental Asians).

In Korea, there is mandatory military service for all men who maintain citizenship; a lot of the Koreans I know are dual-citizens. Almost all of the Vietnamese people I know had at least some of their family flee Vietnam because of the Communists during NAM; those Chinese that also fled the PRC strongly support 2A rights. Taiwanese are also 2A supporters because of their ongoing conflict with mainland China. Hmong or Laos/Cambodia/Thailand/etc (SE Asians) are also generally in favor of 2A rights, because their families were displaced during fairly recent conflicts or is part of the culture (Hmong).

There is a trend among younger second/third generation Asians to be more liberal, because they have an easier life that is removed from the hardships their elders experienced. It's also because minorities tend to gravitate towards more metropolitan areas, which have higher liberal exposure; without a strong personal connection to conflict, it is easy for people to forget the importance of 2A rights.

In my experience, Filipinos and Japanese are typically anti-gun, although they are pro-weapon/martial-arts. Haven't met many, so I can't say this is a trend, just my personal observations.

I am Korean-american, and here is my thing on asians and guns in my life. Yes, I am a store owner, but decided to do it after graduating from UMD. I have a CCW permit, and had it before guns were in the national spotlight. Asian people usually arent too fond of guns because they are properly never introduce to it. Never know that young looking asian gun at the bank in front of you might just have a ccw permit on him....

Glad to see you on here. I'm African American and my view on guns is npt in step with what America thinks it should be. Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr were both gun supporters. Glad to hear that you have ccw permit.

You may be hanging around the wrong bunch of Filipinos. the Ones that i know are usually pro gun, especially the ones with strong accents. LOL. Those will puck you up with their portypibe.

But most of the younger generation in general are anti-gun. Not just Asians. It is IMO the product of the educational system and press that is dominated by
    the progressive left.

It is also a damn shame that the new generation of Asians raised in America forget why their families moved here. Most escaped some kind of oppression or simply seek a better life that their old countries could never provide. They simply adopt the MTV lifestyle and become irritatingly liberal. I know, because I put up with this crap.

the anti-gun / liberal -socialist movement has reached every corner of the globe. the Philippines for example passed extensive gun control regulations recently just to keep up with our stupidity in the west.

On my facebook page, i regularly post pictures and threads about 2A and guns. Right after Sandy Hook, many have sent me " dislikes" . That gave me chance to see who my real friends are. Simply deleted all the libtards. No one needs a spare Axxhole anyways.
