My SW 1911 alloy frame gun was the biggest piece of poop when I first got it. Now I have about 2000 rounds threw it with 0 FTF or FTE nor rounds blowing up :) I only shoot magtech threw it.

This thread has been very helpful Chad, as mentioned before.

I have about 500 rounds of that Remington ammo. I'll have to check the lot numbers later today.

Glad to help my friend. If its the same lot and theres really an issue it may have happened to you too.

Is this ammo safe to shoot in my plastic FNP? If it did that to metal, whats it going to do to plastic?

This may be just a fluke. Remington is being notified and if theres a problem a recall wil be issued.

I would wait if you can. If you cant and have a powder scale weigh the rounds and see if theres any significant variations.

A polymer gun will blow apart harder than an alloy or stel gun but it dosent mean it wil cause more damage to the shooter.

Nah bro, you're only supposed to shoot plastic cased rounds through your polymer framed firearms.
It's OK if you have no idea. Just should limit your responses.

Thanks Chad. I have 900 rds of the same lot #. I'll shoot the other stuff first until I hear more. Keep us informed of what Remington tells the owner. I see one member here said it was loaded Hot.

I have alot more Remington .45 than I thought....and its' all this same lot. I have 1,000 rounds of this stuff.
Now what? Should I just let it sit there and wait six months to see if Remington puts out a recall?

Ill keep everyone updated as I am given info. Im certain Reminton will contact me since I examined it.

You are correct it can take a little time when recalls are authorized. My post is only a precaution, and in no way means all Remington from that batch are defective. It could very well be an isolated incident.

If it were me I wouldnt fire it till I know for sure. If I was forced to use it I would weigh each round and pull underweight or overweight rounds.

Personaly, I believe you will find that this pistol fired out of battery or there was a short
charge of powder and when fired the short charge sends the pressures up to that of a
center fire rifle. In P O Ackleys Book Vol 1 & 2, he does testing on this very topic.

As far as ammo goes, I have only seen 3 brands with rolled over case mouths.

    WWB
    Remington White/Green Box
    Fiocchi

WWB is foreign made now and some. 45 rounds arent seated deep enough and cause issues.

Chad, just a note, all of the WWB I saw today at the Cockeysville Wal-Mart was marked "Made in USA". I have seen a photo of WWB .380 that was made in the Czech Republic, most likely S&B, but some WWB is still domestic.
