Here is the response I received back from BCM on the Pistol...

"Maryland has some obscure and very unconstitutional laws regarding firearms. There is some conflict over handguns that exist on the approved roster. Only handguns that appear on the approved roster are considered legal for ownership. Wilson Combat does not sell to any state agencies that currently enforce unconstitutional law. California and Massachusetts, both states that exempt law enforcement officers from the policies that apply to its citizens, are also on the no sales list from wilson combat as well as our own. Maryland has forbidden series 70 safeties however, the X-TAC, which the BCM® 1911 is built on, is on the approved list. The BCM® 1911 is a separate and unique model despite it being an identical frame to the X-TAC. We have removed the restriction to Maryland however, we highly advise you to confirm legality with your state and local authorities."
