I don't!!just out of curiousity do you? :innocent0

Nope. I bought a lake house in between Hickory and Asheville, West Carolina, instead. Me, my dawg, my guns and my taxes are all sayin' AMF to the Socialist Republik of Maryland-stan!!!!!!!!

I wish everyone of my MDS / MSI brethren could join us there, believe me (I am convinced the lack of victims to keep suckin' the tax juice out of alone would cause the whole MD lib-tard charade to implode upon itself!)

He's not exempt from needing an HQL to purchase a handgun, he's only exempt from the training requirement to obtain the HQL.

    Exemptions:
An applicant is not required to possess a Handgun Qualification License if they are:
    A Licensed Firearms Manufacturer.
Active law enforcement officer or a person retired in good standing from a law enforcement agency of the United States, the State, or a local law enforcement agency of the State.
A member or retired member of the armed forces of the United States or National Guard.
A person purchasing, renting or receiving an antique, curio or relic as defined in federal law or in determinations published by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

I will not apply for a HQL. !!!

Just over three full weeks, sent an email in this morning inquiring why the three federal checks (NICS,CJIS,JIS) had not been completed. Just got an email that it was done and approved 30 minutes later. Seemed interesting and fishy all at the same time. Oh well those background checks are done, off to Atlantic Guns to fill out the paperwork on that wonderful Springfield MILSPEC they have for me. My Precious, don't take my Precious....

Finger prints on Monday, approved yesterday. Number showing on the website. Just waiting for card in mail. Much simpler than I expected.

literally exactly the same dates for me. 50 for fingerprint. 50 for MSP, less than 24 hours to approval.

other than the cost it wasn't a problem, maybe 15 min to get fingerprinted

Yep but when I want or need another hand gun I will just go get one. You make your decisions I will make mine.

I just hope those that have decided to give in, don't have all of us regretting it later.

    Incrementally boiling the frog.

I came close to caving recently. Decided I don't need another hand gun before leaving this liberal cesspool.

My opinion is firmly the HQL is a deterrent, so by boycotting the HQL and not buying handguns, you are giving the antis a win in their minds. If half of Maryland got an HQL I don't think the antis would see that as a win for their gun control (hell half of maryland may not even be eligible to own a firearm...). gun control =removal of guns= at worst make it harder to buy a gun so less law abiding citizens get guns.

so the only way to fight the antis is to keep buying guns, and if anything buy more.

i think the ultimate protest would to buy HBARs or AR pistols as fast as your money allows.

I bought more firearms in the months prior to 10/1 than I had in several years prior. I have supported my LGS.

To the greedy deluded cronies, I extend my middle digit.

I purchased 18 handuns and two ARs in the 8 months prior to 10/1/13. My originial intention was to never get the HQL since I can retire in 7 years and leave this state. However, I seem to always find more handguns that I want so I quickly (and begrudgingly) got my HQL. I think I've purchased at least 18 more handguns since.

Also, if we all refuse to get the HQL and stop buying handguns, most of the FFLs in this state will be out of business and the anti-2Aers in the state score a total win. Selling just long guns and ammo won't keep most of these places going.

My stepson lives in Boon county North Carolina and he's been asking the wife and I to come check it out. I think we finally have her convinced on going so with my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed hopefully we say goodbye to Maryland soon!!!
