    To me, they have lost their luster. I’m not a fan of the new tacticool model and everything I’ve been able to put my hands on in gun shops, have really short barrels. Along with all that, the crazy pricing has backed me off, I have plenty of options for deer hunting, so I’ll wait until I find what I want, with a fair price tag.

    Yea, I don’t like them either. I have had levers of some variety for the last 30 plus years. None are this tacticool crap.
    I will say the Marlin/ruger trapper I got a couple years ago is excellent in fit and finish. It’s a fun rifle to shoot even in 45/70. I call her thumper.
