Take her to various gun shops and let HER pick what she wants.

Better even, take her to some ranges that rent and let her shoot them.

Any of the major brands make fine firearms. So it is personal choice.

This:thumbsup: When my wife wanted a small revolver I took her to the LGS and let her decide. She passed on several SW snubbies and the SP101. She now has a LCR .38+P and shoots it well.

It will depend also on her parameters. Since mention was made of A revolver , and no mention made of pocket/ ankle carry , I make some speculations :

An all around revolver, reasonably pleasant to shoot for range sessions , fairly suitable for belt carry.

Indeed , an SP101 strongly resembles that. For the sake of due diligence , have her also try a K Frame.

If she isn't carrying, I'd go with the S&W 686 7 rounder. The gun is bulletproof. When you shoot 38spl out of it, it feels like you are shooting 22lr. Even 38spl +P have minimal recoil. For shits and giggles I used to sneak a .357 magnum round in with the 38spls when I was practicing with my wife (I have the 686 6 rounder). The look on her face when she'd shoot the .357 was priceless!

Yes, and a great way to piss off you wife and turn her off guns. :sad20:

No, she gives as good as she takes. She's a ballbuster extraordinaire. She had already shot guns with me enough to like them already. That said, she was used to 38spl and full sized 9mm handguns.

The Wife likes my model 64 S&W, the two J frames are light and bite. A K frame or a SP101 would be the best bet.
