Frankly I don't trust any electronic voting machines without a paper audit trail. Too many opportunities at several stages to tamper with results.

Same here. Each machine tallies its votes and submits the totals. At Central Galactic Command, the numbers are "corrected" to properly reflect what they "should be." No audit trail. Voila! All precincts vote D 100% [see Philadelphia].
