To those to thick to 'get it', I suggest you contact the mother of Christina Taylor-Green and explain your 'right' to have high capacity magazines.

Interesting, Christina Taylor-Green's father was interviewed and he doesn't want any additional restrictions on people. The father gets it.

They keep going on about getting all this BS ready for the senate...isn't it supposed to go through the house first? Or do I have it mixed up?

A bill can start in either chamber, and must be approved in the other before it can submitted to the Pres so it to become law.

So, I read HR308 that Caroyln McCarthy submitted earlier this week to reinstate the ban on high capacity magazines. It calls for serialization of magazines so there is a known, established method for determining pre/post ban magazines. In a nutshell, its pretty much the same as the the "Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device" portions of the 1994 AWB.

In my opinion, there is no way that this bill will ever make it out of committee. Lamar Smith (R-TX) is the head of that committee and is very much pro-gun. Even if it did, I doubt with the new house makeup that it would go any where. Still, we have to remain vigilant at all levels of government to make sure this stuff never sees the light of day.

Of course, Van Hollen signed his name on to this BS legislation.

Right now, it has 57 co-sponsors.

Shame on McCarthy and VPC/Brady for using Gifford's attempted murder to push their agenda.

So what do we do to stop this?

In the short term, calling and/or writing your congress person and senators
In the long term, support better candidates for elective office, donate/support organizations which will fight.

I've sent notes to my elected officials even though it seems pointless:

    House Pascrell
    Senate Menedez
    Senate Lautenberg

They need to know not all their constituents support their failed and unconstitutional anti civil-rights agenda.
