The difference is Jurgena was an outspoken 2A supporter.

But,.... didn't vote all that different than the other board members, and sometimes asked Pandora's Box type questions.

So,... if applying the LAW properly, he was not much different than the other members/chair.

No doubt. He was a sacrificial lamb IMHO. Now that the other four are confirmed I sure hope they all vote more like Mr. Jurgena.

Maybe you say it in jest,... but what other better candidate is there really? Knows the process and the law inside and out.

That would be an interesting game of chess with the GA. Ex division member part of the review board. It would be interesting if the GA asked him questions before he would be voted on. It would be interesting to see how the papers would report it.

The whole thing would be interesting. Obviously Hogan doesn't have what it takes to appoint such an individual. Furthermore, probably highly unlikely Mr. McCauley is looking for things to do Tuesday evenings. :sad20:

Papers don't have to 'report' it, if there's an advance release detailing the rationale (for whomever is appointed) that is balanced and unassailable.

He would take the appointment in a heartbeat.

As cool as it would be to have him on the board, I think Jack has zero chance to be confirmed by the MGA. He has all sorts of YouTube videos asserting his pro 2A views and disdain for the out of wack processes within the Licensing Division. The MGA would be slobbering all over that stuff to kick him in the nuts.

I would agree. Making that appointment will make it just that much easier for the MGA to seriously revise the appeals process next session. I fully expect the MGA and the AG's office to monitor the board throughout this year. If they find it's decisions deviate to dramatically from those of the past 40 years, changes will take place. It's all about control for the Mike and Mike show.
