    THAT is THE question.

A couple more questions…if Rob holds both FFLs for the range and he gets convicted, I assume those go away pronto (the RK86 certainly)? Would the incorporated status of the range somehow protect that other FFL? Maybe his wife could take over? Would the feds be inclined to issue another FFL, or even continue with the current one, given what’s happened? Just curious if it’s likely we’ll lose the range. I haven’t been there in a while but I really like that we have it here in Frederick.
When the guy in ANP went up the river, the ATF allowed his wife to put in an application and she got an FFL and ran the store until they sold it.

Range technically doesn't need an ffl. Probably hard to pay the bills without all the services an ffl allows you to provide, though.

Oh darn! Wonder what that means for folks waiting on Form 4 approvals if this goes south.|

A lot depends on what is proven. Or any deals made. The atf let hal's pending transfers get completed via the ffl they granted his wife from what I heard.

A manufacturer I know who ended up in deep doo doo (not atf related) had an LLC not a sole proprietor structure ffl and so his license was unaffected, his wife was already part of the LLC. She just because a Responsible Person on the license to sign paperwork. He just couldn't touch the guns.

Thanks. Will have to watch this closely.

Huh? I have no clue what he is saying. He is the head law enforcement official in the county. That doesn’t make him above the law or exempt from it. The only “allowing himself” to be arrested was that he didn’t decide to go down in a blaze of glory/suicide by other cops, or go on the lam.

I think Mr,GunsandGear misunderstands the legal status of a sheriff, state and federal law and sovereignty.

Counties are not sovereign, states are. So his status as a county sheriff means nothing. Even if he was the head of Maryland State Police or the Maryland State Attorney General, he would not be exempt from arrest or indictment for federal charges. A governor wouldn’t be either. But at least state officials have a claim of sovereignty going on.

I bet there’s a bunch of officers pulling security detail at his house right now. All the people that hate him, or that he’s locked up now know he’s unarmed. Not a good position to be in.

Probably, but I would bet that he has layered security anyway. Add in his local popularity and I'd say it's better than even money there are guns around him most all of the time.

Always should have discretion on cases like these, the man has held his office with distinction and should continue to do so.

I never understood the part where they said Innocent until proven guilty.
Does it mean anything, and at best this is a blue-collar crime. IMHO
