Been working in Columbia long enough to remember that ... airsoft, too ... along with the "no, seriously, we're still open!" signs during the renovation / hunting-lobotomy.

I really wouldn't mind a Cabela's in Gettysburg or York.

With all the crappy laws in this state, Dick's in Frederick is going to arrive pre-castrated. I'll bet they have plenty of spandex cycling shorts and official team-logo jerseys, though.

Even the Dicks that carry guns don't carry anything I am interested in. Same goes for its cycling gear. Not many places around here actually carry high end cycling stuff. Great helmets and cheap POS bikes for the kids, but nothing I would really want to use for myself. Doubt I would even buy my kids' bikes from there. A Cabela's in York would probably be almost as far away from me as Christiana Mall in Delaware. At least the one in Christiana Mall is on the way to Long Island where a lot of my wife's family lives. We visit a couple times a year at least. Worst part about that is we have already passed by the Cabela's 4 times and I have not stopped in once.

Does Dick's sell used firearms or just new. Sometimes Gander Mountain has used military rifles roll through its stock I was wondering if Dick's did the same. Never been to one.

My grandfather has been having a rough time and that prompted me coming up here. He's a hunter/ fisherman and loves outdoor stores, so yesterday was a good time for us and a great distraction for him.

There is a soft opening yesterday, I saw zip 22lr ammo. I was told there will be some Friday.

I happened to glance at this, while walking the mall a couple weeks back. Very intriguing. Not sure it is going to have a heavy rifle section, probably bow and arrow.

Anybody go to Dick's today? Any good deals?

Just popped in to look at their selection, which is large. They had a pretty big selection of pump shotguns, at least one side by side and a bunch of bolt action rifles. I actually wasn't looking for anything semi auto (I was mainly interested in finding a Rem 700 in 308) so I'm not sure what the selection is like for that. No "black rifles" from what I saw but I guess that's normal.

Federal 55gr 5.56 420 round boxes were a little over 200 bucks if I remember right.

Many guns were "on sale" but I don't remember the specifics. I think a savage bolt 308 was going for around $280? Sales all over the store due to the grand opening. I'm not sure how long that's going on.

The guys at the counter were friendly but the place was packed so I didn't talk with them long. I'd say definitely check them out. They had a fairly sizable hunting fishing and outdoors section, and the store itself is huge if you're looking for anything athletic. Sports Authority has a big competitor here now!
