I'm glad you're okay platoonDaddy! Scary sh!t for sure!
Y'all should have known better than to buy from "Eldest Son Surplus!"I got that beat!
Double Load(checked that box)?
Catastrophic failure: I was at the range this morning and this happened. I had experienced a squib round(no powder) where the primer pushed the 9mm bullet into the rifling. Hearing just a puff sound, I knew to stop, wait, drop the mag and eject the expected empty case. I made the gun safe and...www.mdshooters.com
I'm glad you guys are ok too.I'm glad you're okay platoonDaddy! Scary sh!t for sure!
I was thinking of visiting you guys this morning. Always a day late and a dollar short. Glad you're OK old man. This AM shooting my WIN brass reloads; 5.5 Grs of WSF, COL 1.169, CCI #500, had an explosion. Note attached pictures. Of course it resulted in a few minor burns to both hands. I don’t keep count of the # of times the brass was reloaded. During reloading, every so many rounds I will check a few with a Wilson Pistol Gage.
Any idea on what might have caused the issue..
Was using Wilson Combat BarrelGet a KKM barrel. It won't scare you and it will be more accurate.

Ok, then your disconnector is allowing the striker to release when the slide is not in battery. Was using Wilson Combat Barrel
Unsupported Glock chamber perhaps?
I have over 1.5K rounds down range on this barrel without an issue….Ok, then your disconnector is allowing the striker to release when the slide is not in battery.
That's why I suggested testing how much out of battery was necessary to stop the firing pin.Ok, then your disconnector is allowing the striker to release when the slide is not in battery.
That's a good point. That's why I suggested testing how much out of battery was necessary to stop the firing pin.
Sorry, didn't catch that. Excellent idea. I have found some that will allow ignition with the case halfway out of the chamber. That's why I suggested testing how much out of battery was necessary to stop the firing pin.
Well, until you get an out of spec round or a chamber dirty enough to keep the case from fully chambering, you won't see a problem. That is why it is a good idea to check periodically by holding the slide away from full lockup and see where it disconnects.I have over 1.5K rounds down range on this barrel without an issue….
What makes you say that? If the chamber is in spec, and the majority of the case is in the chamber, the firing pin is going to strike the center of the primer. If it were firing out of battery, the primer strike would be off center. That looks typically centered. Not out of battery.
Honestly, it looks like a bad piece of brass.
