Used a CMMG ramped bolt and it has a Spikes LPK. It had a Spikes Battle Trigger before the Geissele went in.

Is there any suppressor one could weld/solder to the barrel permanently to fulfill the 29in requirement with a 5.5in barrel ? (in a setup that allows some disassembly for cleaning)

I keep remembering stuff. My barrel is threaded 5/8 x 24. I had to use a thread adapter for this. This allows me to use a .30 caliber supressor.
This will be my first and I can use it on this rifle, my .308 and for my .223 ARs.

You are not talking about the 9mm build here, are you? 30cal = 7.62mm. they cant be used on 9mm. or did I read this wrong? :)

.30cal ie 7.62 suppressors can be used on 9mm and on 5.56. You can go down from the rating of the suppressor
    But not up.

AAC's .223 mount allows you to mount a .223 or .30 but thier .30 mount will not allow attachment of a .223 suppressor.

But you can't go UP in bore size. 9mm > 7.62mm. A 9mm will probably physically fit through a 7.62 suppressor but you'll have baffle strikes. Not enough clearance.

Just get a 50BMG suppressor. That works w/ nearly everything;)

A YHM 7.62 will allow suppressor use on a 9mm carbine. You have to modify the YHM 9mm Q.D. mounts to accept the .30 Q.D. can, but its doeable. The one I modded had a bore of .398.

YHM does not like that being done though.

Wow... That's tight huh. I was wrong.

The YHM Wraith Q.D. 9mm mount is the specific mount. If its modified it will allow a YHM .308 Q.D. Phantom to mount up. The bore will clear on the ones I have worked with, but the threads on the barrel have to be PERFECT.

I'm jealous that you don't have the OAL issue to contend with. My 9mm AR is at an IP right now having the barrel chopped and threaded. I had to go with a 9.5" barrel, but I should still be able to throw 147gr ammo through it suppressed and still have it subsonic.

I'm going with a 7" handguard though. Just personal preference for me.

Nice! Be sure to post pics when it's done.

    I have another question.

What buffer are you guys using on these? Are you using one made for the 9mm bolt or are you using a standard heavy buffer + Spacer?

    Thanks.

The heavier the better. Heavybuffers.com makes them to the proper length. If your buffer is too short it can break bolt catches. You want them to just clear the bolt catch.

The best spring for these are this:

    http://www.brownells.com/rifle-part...yle-308-chrome-silicon-springs-prod22336.aspx

Don't cut them, just install it and enjoy a spring that lasts 500K cycles and has a softer impulse that does not over compress.

Everything changes if you use a shorter stock like a LWRC UCIW Stock Assembly because they use shorter buffers. like mine:

This is why I want to build a 9mm ar! I will have to go the pistol route but thus is pure sex!

I run the Q9 heavy buffer from heavybuffers.com. My 9mm AR is my favorite gun to shoot.
