It just doesn't make sense that that is what they are tightening up on. More obstructionism if you ask me.
The first one that got side lined for the occupation I called to see what exactly was wrong. Then I asked do you need a job to be eligible to purchase a pistol? “No”
So what job would make you ineligible? “None , I think”
    Ok

It's crazy! You have to think they're being pressured by someone.

That's better than bank robber! :lol2:
    In theory.

One guy wrote faeces distributor. They didn't like it. He legit drove the shit spreader rig for one of the big ag companies.

Nothing tops the guy writing master in the race box. The shitshow that stirred up was epic.

I put Videonystagmography Technician down. Never have a problem although I'd be willing to bet they have no idea at all what that is. LOL!

That's the thing of it . It's a Protected Class that you can't discriminate on the basis of Source of Income .

Now that Conducting Business , and Assumed Risk are moot points . there isn't anything they could actually do with knowing your precise occupation .

Risk and business never had any relevance to a 77r anyway. We're talking about 77r - simple handgun purchase, not a W&C permit. Under Good and Substantial, they might try to claim justification for getting a picture of your lifestyle, to assess (subjectively) one's level of risk, and thus if one had a peculiar, special need to carry a handgun. That was the tortured thinking.

Are you suggesting that the MSP inserted the question about Occupation in order to assess one's Good and Substantial reason to simply buy a .22 target pistol or IPSC gun?

They have no business asking that question.

I think it does. They have also tightened up in the last year.

What are they tightening up? This is a background check, not a subjective assessment of the purchaser's Good and Substantial Reason to merely purchase a handgun.
