unless your doing beer stills are illegal for spirits. Unless you want the regulators coming to your house that is. But heres the real kicker. One can grow medicial Marjuania and sell it to recoup growing expenses. Also you can write it off on your taxes, but making and definately selling "Moon Shine" is illegal.

aren't we talking about a complete breakdown of society?

Anyway, is running a still illegal if you're not selling it?

Yes it is still illegal to produce regardless of your intent to use or not.

You can legally produce Wine and Beer for personal consumption but not hooch......stupid laws!

You can have an Ethanol still for fuel...hmmm

Yep, and the only thing preventing you from operating an ethanol still, even for production of fuel, is, ta-da.... THE BATF.

You need to have all the proper licenses, follow a litany of requirements, and get approval from the BATF, before you can even THINK about operating a still.

The reason you can't have a still is because you can use it for fuel. The BATF does not enforce that law- it's the revenue'ers (Internal revenue sevice) because of the fuel tax.

They have started shutting down home brew bio-fuel guys as well.

Heinlein used to say the first sign of a society in it's death throws was dirty public restrooms. The last straw was universal ID.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Damn if we joined up with a few other area groups, we could have a three state wide compound in the hills somewhere. Nobody would want anything to do with our area.

I found something intersting, To see where this list is cross posted, google "No.76 Dietz". There are a lot of interesting sites that come up.

Apparently these lanterns weren't made until 1978 and they were only made overseas.

of course any kerosene lantern would work I just wanted to see what the lanterns looked like.

    now I sleep
