I have a question about the ban and ruling. Maybe it's already been answered but I haven't found it.
I understand that the SC has already ruled on any "ban", saying you can't ban a "weapon in common use" (i don't have the ruling in front of me). The SC ruling doesn't say "common use for defense". What other firearms are more common than an AR or AK? So why wasn't the lawsuit/appeal filed on those grounds? How can this ban stand if it goes to the SC?
I'm not looking for 2A rhetoric or "because they're stupid" answer. I'm looking for an objective legal answer.
