Well, yes and no. I had no idea Polytech made M14s....but if it's anything like their AKs, it's probably one of the best M14s extant. Congratulations!
However, I was under the impression that M14s/M1As are now prohibited in MD. No?

Yes, m1a's and US M-14's are but heard that the reason that the Polytech M-14S is not is cause it has metric parts or something to that nature where it does not swap parts with the US M-14

This. Except for Mags and I THINK the flash suppressor. The internals do not swap with any Springfield M14 or M1A. I know a guy who has one :innocent0 that needs to take it to the range and try it out.

How well did the stock swap out? That guy I know that has one :innocent0 has been considering getting a USGI stock for his. Just not sure if there are a lot of benefits to doing the stock swap

By the way where did you get hte flash suppressor on that?

I am still waiting on my Argentine Model 1891 Cavalry Carbine and am dealing with idiots at the seller. It was made in 1895 and the seller called to say "we can't ship this to you under your 03 FFL because [and I further quote] it's a 'rifle'!"

So, I calmly explain to her that it's an antique, it was made in 1895, don't even need an FFL blah blah. She says "well my manager says otherwise." I ask to speak with her manager. Her manager says the same thing and that she has to call to Colorado Bureau of Investigation to make sure I'm correct. At this point, I'm starting to get annoyed and ask if they regularly sell guns. She confirms that they do, and I say that this is something of which a regular seller should have knowledge. I explain that it's an antique because it was made in 1895 and she says "actually, sir, the rifle says it was made in 1891." Oy vey. At the end, I say, please - don't call the CBI. Just call the BATFE, tell them what you want to ship and to whom you want to ship it. She says "that's what we're going to do" [click].

I mean - is it too much to ask for people who choose to sell guns via online auctions to know the freaking law? This is my much sought after treasure so I am maybe a little eager to get it and not as patient as I might otherwise be, but come on .... This isn't a deadly black gun or anything.

Few things are more emotionally taxing than dealing with idiots ... ask anyone who knows me.
