While up at A1 Uniform the other day, I saw something that I hadn't seen before and did have to say 'that's a different take on a IWB holster".

It's a DeSantis GunHide - it's elegantly simple and rather minimal.

Being less than $25, I figured 'what the hell, I'll give it a go'. It attaches and locks in via the accessory rail (advertised for Glocks, but with 2 minutes of tweaking, it fits my M&P perfectly).

I don't think it'll replace my Safariland 6378 - which is OWB - but I can see some occasions where this little guy is probably going to offer slightly better concealment.

I will say, don't think IWB is going to be my preferred method of carry - having the muzzle of a .45 that close to my junk does feel odd. ;)

If nothing else, it'll be another option that can be employed when situation warrants.

It stays attached during firing/draw, haven't noticed any difference in ejection pattern (especially since I slightly re-contoured my ejector) or any types of failures in feeding, etc. And even on my scrawny ass, that full-frame disappears now - unless the shirt blows directly onto the frame/slide.

Just thought it was interesting, and maybe someone may want to give it a whirl. For the cost, it's not like you're out much if it isn't for you.

personally i like the blade-tech nano. fat guys don't like the sweat-guard.
that being said, skinny guys need to wear it around the house to get used to the weight and how not to knock corners when wearing it. :smoke: IWB :party29: only.

Don't know if it could be considered a sweat guard?

Honestly, after getting my 6378, I never really spent much effort looking at IWB. It just 'fit' me so well.

I'm used to the weight. Have a nice dedicated gun-belt that doesn't appear to be a gun-belt, I have had to remind myself at times that I'm carrying. After an hour or two, forget it's there.

With the IWB, definitely don't forget it's there.

I'd rather have a holster covering the trigger guard.

With you there, especially with the muzzle being where it is.

It's not for everyone, but it was interesting to me, so I'll give it a go.

Always have a few other holsters if this one doesn't do it for me. Still prefer my OWB 6378, but it can be bulky at times.

If you've already had kids, losing your penis may not be a big deal. At the worst of it, the doctors are able to outfit you with a tube device to aid with urination, and you can easily twiddle the stump with just two fingers if you want to masturbate. The ladies might not like the Bobbit look, or extra plumbing coming out of it, but seriously... how many people do you show your junk to in a month? Does it matter?

    Modern medicine is marvelous.

I say go for it. Live dangerously.

Meh, if anyone's picked up a drunk chick before, then you've already put your dick in more danger IMO... :D

    That's funny.

I'm unable to post a picture of the trigger guard in referring to; but its what you need.

In all honesty, for IWB, the full-frame M&P is too much gun for my build.

    It's a full-frame, I'm not. ;)

Ok. I agree, thought you might actually try to roll with that set up.

I think you should go to the other end of the spectrum, like an LCP or similar.

I picked it up to evaluate it, it looked intriguing.

For the full-frame M&P, I'll stick with the 6378 OWB for the time being.

**I'll bring it along next Tuesday if you want to check it out.

At the 3 o'clock position, still concealable, and it's not pointed at something I'd prefer to keep undamaged.

Again - Not for everyone, but it's another option that's out there.

Something like that might work for a DAO with a heavy trigger, or a revolver, but a Glock? Not for me, thanks.

I like 4 o clock, but I'll admit the mag floor plate pushes on gp clothing making it print.

I'm at 4 to 4:30. How the hell would you sit in a car with it like that?

It's not bad boss, but I've got a smaller gun
