EDIT -
Based upon responses that I've gotten, I've decided that this isn't the best way to go about things. I may post some of them in the for sale area here eventually, or I may just figure out what I'm selling and put them on GB.
I tried to help this guy out by explaining to him that what he has is a Ballester-Molina (note spelling), that it wasn't made by Colt, and that it's not even a copy of a Colt. I didn't mention to him that it has a crap refinish job and the wrong grips. I tried to be gentle. I'm not interested...
I recently bought a Belgian Hi-Power, made for an Argentine contract, that has an internal extractor. It's the second Hi-Power with that extractor that I've bought. Since that particular part seems to be made of unobtanium, I thought I'd try to locate a spare ... with very little initial...
I just got through reading a thread about laser engraving on a social media group. Someone there got a new engraver and put something onto the stock of his AR as his first test.
Then a couple of guys piled onto him, saying that he can't do business like that for others without having an...
It's interesting that this video begins by using essentially the same term that we do -- Curio & Relic.
Even though this clip is in Spanish, you'll get the gist of what's being said just by watching it. One of the main features is how some of the Argentine gauchos modified surplus Remington...
I just ran across this (silent) animation of the complete disassembly of a Colt 1911A1. It's very nicely done--interesting to watch.

This, folks, is the new President of Croatia. It makes me even more glad that I've supported their firearms industry over the years.

I've finally managed to get the first three (of four) volumes of the Springfield Research Service Serial Numbers of U.S Martial Arms series. I'll be glad to look up numbers as time permits. Just post the firearm type and serial number here.
EDIT:
While there are some listings for WWII, and...
I got some of my stuff out of deep (off-premises) storage this weekend to clean, inspect, re-pack, etc. I thought that I'd take some photos and post them while this is going on. I'm only doing handguns now. Long guns will require some help that I don't have available this weekend.
I'll...
Any time that you hear someone say, "It's just an old rifle!", and they suggest that it doesn't need to be preserved because so many of them were made that they are now selling for dirt cheap prices ... keep this in mind.
This seemed like a good idea in another thread, so I thought that I'd set up something here to develop it further.
I'd be up for trying to get together a group in my part of VA.
Want to meet one of the biggest a$$holes on Gunbroker? Do business with Carl Weiss, aka "Hooah2". I recently put down a pretty good sized stack of cash on a Nambu that this guy was selling. Yeah, I saw the mandate on his "FAQ" that said he didn't like to be interrupted, but when I spend a...
I removed this clip because posters made good points about whether or not it belongs here. I won't debate whether or not the guy was an "idiot," but I still do think that he wasn't practicing good safety measures.
I'm really getting attracted to this rifle--mostly because of the fact that there's so much history attached to them over the brief time that they were in U.S. service.
Assessment of my first Krag-Jorgensen:
I need to do an upper band replacement on it, flip the lower band around like it...
I thought that it might be a good resource if we post photos of various holsters that we might have that were made specifically for certain C&R handguns. There can be a lot of variation among even the holsters made for the same gun, but in different branches of a given country's military...
Just an interesting story. I ran into the "high sheriff" of the county where I live yesterday, and he told me that they recently had a guy of my generation drop by the office with a box full of parts.
The guy was about my age, and a Vietnam veteran. While in 'Nam he relieved an enemy...
I thought that it would be a good idea to have a thread for things that we've discovered along the way--things that may not seem directly related to C&R guns, but are related in some way, just the same.
Here are a coupe that I was thinking about on my way home tonight:
Big Secret: Have you...
