We kept it but I let my friend eat it. I hear they have to be cleaned a certain way and I don't know what that way is yet.

As others have said, just like any other fish but you have to keep following ribs almost all the way to tail as the air bladder extends all the way.
In reference to the slime I find it best to put on a piece of cardboard and let it in my shed refrigerator for a couple hours. This will dry out the slime coat and the fish will be much easier to hold while you filet.

Dumb question, I need to get # stickers for my kayak since its going to have an electric motor. I was hoping to get a one piece sticker made for ease of install. What do you guys recommend for boat stickers?

The best part is I don’t have to feel like I’m hurting a population by eating them. It’s virtually impossible to over harvest them.

I hope to do dome snake head fishing this summer but have no idea where to go.

Headed to rocky gap tomorrow, mounted the trolling motor last night. Gonna be a cold one!

Ok. It's time for all you fishermen to come out of hibernation! We've got some warm weather heading this way and it time to start catching some fish! I want to see some reports. I for one plan to get out this Sunday. Not sure where yet. I am not a big fan of catching fish during the spawn unless they are released.

    Hold your horses amigo.
The CA mountain season is a few months out; I've not been there in a few years. Pics to follow.
    Again, chill. ;)

I'm thinking of taking the boat out Sunday. Probably hit the upper potomac looking for smallmouth.

...in other words, just about any creek or river edge in the tidal Potomac. They are everywhere down there.
I bass fish a fair amount out of the Fort Washington area where there is supposed to be a lot of snakeheads. I catch lots of bass and catfish but never a damn snakehead.

I wish I could find them in a tributary down by the mouth of the Potomac but I think that’s a little too far down

I promise you both they are there. Ive honestly shot hundreds in Fort Washington over the years. And as far as down by the mouth, I live in St Inigoes. Ive shot them in Lake Canoy at Point Lookout. and pretty much every creek north of there to the bridge.

Cool, thanks. I’ve never heard any fishermen down that far even mention them. I have a friend that has a place on Mill Creek in Callao, VA.
Goes into the Yeocomico River and then the Potomac. It’s only a ten minute boat ride into the Potomac.
Maybe we’ll start trying to go after them this year
