They were going to take a scalp, but wanted to be strategic.

They were not going after woman nominees--and especially not going after Ms. White. They weren't going after Jacque The MoCo Detective. If they targeted the Chairman they knew it was going to be a war. So they ambushed Mr. Jurgena.

Right out of the Godfather retribution playbook.

Recently, Richard Jurgena stopped by the Patriot Picket at the Statehouse to express his support, and to tell us not to let up.

Owing to his pending confirmation battle we kept the visit low key and quietly snapped a pic. He simply asked us to sit on the photo until his fate was known. Today, he was victimized by Sen. Ratskin's McCarthy tactics. We can share this photo now and say we are proud to stand with him wherever the fight takes us.

We congratulate you Richard Jurgena for not hiding the 2A light under your cowboy hat. You are a great American!

Fox45 thinks Mike Miller voted in the committee and on the senate floor for Mr. Jurgena's confirmation.

They just discussed the vote at length just a few minutes ago on WCBM. Apparently the senate republicans are appealing in some fashion, since there was a majority 23-22

If I recall, the MD Legislature is one of only few in the U.S. where the Parliamentarian is a lapdog appointee of the majority party, rather than non-partisan.

It was also mentioned on WBAL news last night. I'm sure the clock will run out on this one before anything can change the outcome of yesterday's vote.

I nearly spit out the imaginary coffee I had in my mouth when I saw it on the front page.

It was a good laugh. Must have been a pretty slow news day!

The Sun created the issue the other day just so it could run the result as front page news today - shameful.

OMG, the MD Gen Ass'y. finally solved the murder problem in Baltimore! Obviously FSA2013 failed to do it. And, no, it wasn't the banned evil assault weapons causing the problem, not even high capacity magazine clips. Nor the $2,000 high quality M1A target rifles that Marylanders can no longer buy for national target shooting competitions. It wasn't even the requirement that gang-banging handgun buyers get an HQL before they buy their illegal weapons on the street:

IT WAS ONE, LONE HPRB BOARD MEMBER CAUSING THE MURDER PROBLEM THIS WHOLE TIME! AND THE MGA JUST STOPPED IT!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, MGA. You've solved Baltimorgue's murder problem, and made Maryland safe.

I can hear Vinnie DeMarco now: "The MGA's vote to reject that HPRB appointment is already saving lives in Maryland every day!" Maybe that's tomorrow's BS headline.

    :sarcasm:
