Is that Wolf stuff any good? I bought a brick of Thunderbolt and found out that is the worst shit .22 ammo ever made....

Do you have to insult shit?

Took a couple kids shooting with the Mark III one day, used the Thunderbolts just to get rid of them. I had cleaned the pistol the day before.

I neglected to clean the Mark III after shooting the one hundred Thunderbolts.

Two days later I was shooting, or should I say attempting to shoot, a twenty five yard bullseye match. The barrel was so dirty that if I hit the target I was getting keyholes. One shot was so low I hit the point number marker three feet under the target.

    Never again, at any price

    You got them to fire?
I got mine for free, with a warning. Never again for me too.

I've recently had the opposite experience with the last two bulk boxes of Thunderbolts I shot. They were decently accurate, consistent and clean.

I stopped using them years ago because I had the opposite experience mentioned above when they were "improved". Tried them again and it worked out well. Go figure.

My buddy brought some Thunderbolts and I fired 100rnds thru my ruger sr22. 100%.

So I went and bought few more boxes at $25/500. I hope they are not chit.

22 LR has been going up all over. Midway had 525 Rem GB for $39.99/box. I expect them all to go up. Fed American Eagle (red box) seems to have increased as well (400 round bricks now, not 500 round).

I'm still scratching my head over this .22LR shortage.
I know this has been discussed but I'm not reading through 91 pages ...
    So what's the deal?

I figured the shortage was just temporary and that manufactures would eventually catch up with demand but it's gone on way too long now.
Due to the cost of large caliber ammo, I purchased a couple .22's just before the shortage. Now, with no ammo available, they may as well be paper weights. :mad54:

I'm now considering a .22 air gun.

The shortage will come to a screeching halt very soon. As retailers raise their prices, consumers are starting to back off. I have walked away from thousands of rounds every week for the past month without buying any

Ridiculous pricing, they now are the scalpers.

I think we're seeing a manufacturer initiated "market correction" on .22LR pricing. I'm really amazed it took this long before the big box stores (WM, DSG, Cabelas, Midway and Bass Pro Gander Moutain) prices jumped up. For the last 3 years these were the only stores you could still get .22 at pre-craze prices IF/WHEN they had it in stock and you were lucky enough to be there/click there within the golden hour. I'm really surprised it's taken them this long to raise prices, like all the local ranges, online gunshops and natchez have been doing since day one.

Just as the supply is starting to catch up and stuff is occasionally availible on the shelves the price of just about all brands has shot up. I think $35 will be the new standard for a brick (of ~500rds bulk). The $25 days are over for everyday MSRP... you'll only see it once in a while as the new sale prices. $11.99 for 100rd Mini-mags will follow shortly.

Did you forget what is going to take place next year. Supply may come back and prices stabilize temporarily later this year, but that is all likely to change again in 2016. Now is the time to stock up.

I'm wondering if it's this "perspective" that helped cause the shortage in the first place.
Why is "now the time to stock up"? Are you concerned that the new administration will ban all .22LR ammo?
Are you afraid of a SHTF scenario in which .22LR will be the caliber of choice? :D

Yeah, I'm kidding but I still don't get it.
Why .22LR when I can buy just about any other caliber in bulk all day long.

If anyone isn't prepared for the next event resulting in ammo shortage, shame on them.

I'm just annoyed that CCI AR Tactical can still be hard to find at any price. I saw it yesterday online from 2 places, both over twenty cents per round. I was so happy to see it that I almost bought it.

And all this is coming on after walmart removes 22lr from its online system so they've made it harder to know when they have it available.
