What Maryland Leftists want, is what Maryland gets. Did you note how easily Woollard was appealed and smunched? The court will just find the semantics harmless, and go with the spirit of the law approach. Regardless, do appreciate the fight, but sometimes motions lead to unintended consequences.

And what does inaction get us?

What does rolling over get us?

What does moving out of the state get us?

What does telling those moving into the state, "Don't do it," get us?

I'm tired of all of the nah sayers. If they would put half the energy they expend bitching about MD and saying "don't do it, it won't work, of woe is me" we might actually get something done in this state. Instead they sit on their respective asses expecting someone else or an organization to do it for them. Donations are great, put it take manpower and man-hours to make things happen.

If you wrote an e-mail, great.

If you called your elected officials, great.

If you faxed a letter, great.

If you showed up in Annapolis, great.

What are you (the royal you) doing the rest of the year? If all you are doing is sitting on your ass typing on this forum and occasionally donating money, OK, fine.

How about you get off your ass and volunteer some of your time?

How about you volunteer to drop off brochures at your local gun shop?

How about come up with an idea for outreach and then spearhead it in your local area?

Andy and Engage are at the tip of the spear from the dealer side, MSI, AGC, MSRPA and other organizations are at the tip of the spear from the dealer side.

Who here is at the tip of the spear from the individual side?

    [/rant]

Oh yeah, before I forget, how many people that have thanked Andy and Engage are going to stop in the shop and thank them in person and then support them further buy buying something?

    [/finis]

Was there something about "do appreciate the fight" you didn't understand?

Montgomery, PG and Baltimore run the state. The rest of the state where gun rights would have traction is meaningless. Over 70% in Montgomery County voted for fearless leader, lets not even bother wondering about PG and Baltimore. You are not going to beat those odds. Every time there is a legal win, it gets overturned. The fix is in. Just pick a border and cross it, if gun rights is your number one priority in your life.

These fights can be won. What about the reversal on the definition of "copy" and "integral safety device?" You go 'head and run to another state with your defeatism. I choose to stand and fight.

Gun rights are important, but not my #1 priority. I'll leave Maryland on my own time table. I'm happy my Grandparents were defeatists and left Europe to become American. Guess Baretta leaving Maryland are defeatists too. Kahr fleeing NY another. Magpul ditching CO. You can name a lot more I'm sure. Remember Sam Kinison saying "Move to where the food is!" That seems to be the option for people that are gun obsessed. I wish Maryland was different, but that Hope and Change thing does not appear to work well.

Without gun rights, the government can simply take away all of your other rights.......

The people who keep voting in Democrats can not see the forest through the trees of what is happening to this state. I have watched it go down hill the last 20 years and know people who have been watching it longer.

Those companies are not defeatist they are tired of giving money to a state that wants to put them out of business. I think it is a great business move.

As for moving, some of us can't right now. Some of us continue to fight while we are here.

I hear you. I support the fight, but am not delusional. You are correct, this state has went off the Left end of the cliff. Montgomery County a "sanctuary county" where all the illegals flock from surrounding premises that know better. Millionaires taxes that drive people across the Potomac to Virginia, while welcoming the group that is sucking the money and benefits, while losing the tax payers because of the incredible greed. Investigate the number of students receiving free breakfast and lunch. Where I grew up, over 70% of the students now! Is school for teaching or feeding? Lots of reasons to leave this state if one is able, guns being a minor annoyance in comparison. There are still plenty of states that respect individual rights. Maryland ranked LAST in personal freedom (it swaps from 49 to 50 on occasion with Illinois, interesting) in a George Mason yearly study.

Yep, I saw it, and if saying thank you is all you can muster and you are looking to leave and not volunteer time, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Stop presuming what others contribute in the 2nd Amendment fight. Wear yours on your sleeve if you'd like.

Any attorneys here that have read the complaint? My observations with laws or policy that people try to paint ambiguous, just spurs law makers to go for another shot at the apple. The majority in Maryland is not concerned with intricate semantics when it comes to firearms (magazine , clip anyone?). The law as written perhaps could be scrutinized ad infinitum semantically, and maybe pull out a win? The unintended consequence is they all pow wow again to write some more trash, they have the votes. Their ticket is the next mass killing and it resumes all over again. Now they are adding non black victims killing black attackers as analogous to a mass shooting, giving them much better odds to bitch and moan again and again.

I made my pilgrimage up from St. Mary's County (twice) and came back home with a couple of lowers.

I never presume what others contribute, hence why I ask.

But like I asked above, what does inaction, rolling over, and moving get us? You still haven't answered those questions.

If everyone was concerned about unintended consequences, nothing would get done.

What are the unintended consequences of working to educated the masses?

What are the unintended consequences of having a 2A booth at every public event and fair in the state?

Like I said before, if all you want to do is say thank you and then work on your exit, fine, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. And that goes to everyone on this board that does't have the heart or the balls to put up the fight 365 days of the year.

Most of us that have been doing the majority of the 365 days of work are starting to get worn out and pissed that the rest of the community just sits on their ass. As Andy stated above, there is a lot that can be done, but he and Engage aren't going to do it all. Well guess what, if he isn't going to do it all, then who is?

Who has the balls and the heart to stand up and push the issue to the public for a year. Just one freakin' year and then pass it off to the next group that is ready.

I used to think put up or shut up would get people's attention, but you know what, before you put up, you have to actually stand up.

So stand up or shut up. Put the keyboards away and start putting in man-hours, 4 freaking hours on a weekend, standing at a booth talking to the public about the laws of this state and what can and can't be done and what is and isn't a scary firearm would go a long way to educating the public.

If you don't think so, then I challenge you to show up in Burtonsville or College Park on Sept 27 and watch the interaction with the public from the MSI booth.

Who knows, you might just learn something.
