I can tell you what were going to do about it, not a damn thing except sitting at the computer and talking about what we need to do. From working on a campaign I can tell you, there aren't a lot of feet on the ground helping.

This is exactly what we're talking about changing.

I know I will be talking with people for the next few weeks, looking at some ways to make the changes we need, and how to rally people to do it.

But, yes... you are correct that 99% of us--who purport to endorse Liberty and Freedom--will be sitting around picking their nose and swilling beer, complaining about how nothing changes.

I agree. We act surprised at the low percentage of voter turnout but fail to consider what percentage of our MDS ranks got off their butts and helped their candidate of choice. I wager it to be in the single digits.

Something we need to keep in mind...

There is a wave moving across the country. Not a big one, but it's strong and stready.

It's people starting to see the light, stand up, and get ticked.

Our side--both in MD and Nationally--needs to provide legitimate and verifiable data and images to support that wave, and build it.

In many ways, this is 1978 all over again.

What are we going to do about it?!

I was at the Republican Unity event in Severna Park last night. I was surprised to learn that for the first time in MD history we actually have a majority at the local office level. This is a start. We also have a chance to gain the majority in the house. It will be a tough battle, but the front lines are Districts 31A and 32. We need to get behind Terry Lynn DeGraw and Tim Walters.

What of the "third-party" candidate that applies to run? There's always someone stealing votes towards the end.

Anyone who votes for a 3rd party candidate in the race for governor might as well vote for Brown. I hear all the time how they are standing up for their principles. They might as well just shoot their self in the foot, literally.

Nah , we need lots of 3rd Party candidates .... On the really far left.

Strategically placed candidates should help. EG - though not good for us, braveboy helped frosh win.
In some areas, there is not much competition and people will vote party lines regardless of the candidate. Have to be careful on who runs where

Honestly, I think there will be one in November. Especially if Hogan's polls continue to show him as a real threat to Brown.

We've got to do the unthinkable. Publically denounce these candidates as what they are, spoilers.

I very clearly remember what happened to Dan Bongino. We see it happen all of the time.

    This.

Also, Hogan needs to appeal to the Doogie and Hank voters who are already upset with Brown, and really toss them some good chewy bits re: budget, taxes, MHE costs...

During his speech at the Unity meeting he stated exactly that as part of his plan to win.

Have any of us seen Dems, liberals whatever vote for a 3rd party candidate which I define as a Ross Perot? No they don't. They hold tight to their party to get control and then fight amongst themselves later.

They sit back and laugh at us as we eat our own and continue to lose. If we truly believe the electable republicans are THAT bad, then get on board with a 3rd rail like tea party (who I respect), plan on losing most elections, and learn to live with it. I believe the time for 3rd party candidate-type voting is in the primary elections not the general election. I voted for Lollar but will back hard our primary winner.

It doesn't matter what the Lefties do.

It matters if the Righties split the ticket between the R and the TPC.

I will sleep better between now and November if I pretend a TPC won't be thrown into the mix at the last minute.

I dream that it's against the law, but then I wake up and realize I'm in Maryland and the nightmare continues.
