I have a completed 80% prior to Oct 1st that I SBRd. I understand that having my manufacturing info engraved on it is suggested, but not mandatory.

But, here is my question. Now that I got my approval back from the ATF, do I still need all of my manufacturing info on it? Besides my trust name and city/state/zip, the only other thing I could see necessary to have engraved would be my stated serial number?

When turning a homemade firearm into an NFA item, you must engrave the following below. All of these items should match the Form 1 you submitted to the ATF for approval.

Manufacturer Name (your name or trust name), City, and State (zip code not required)
    Model Number
    Serial Number
    Caliber

The reason why i ask is:
it was manufactured under my name
    SBRd under my trust name

I wasnt sure if I still had to also include my name OR because a Form 1 is to manufacture an SBR or supressor, I could just use trust name, city/state, model, s/n, caliber.

No offense but, I'm a little confused by your statements. Although, bottom line the ATF Form 1/4 should match to whatever is inscribed onto the firearm and vise verse. That being all the information in my previous post. Your trust name is what should be inscribed onto the firearm, as that's what's registered to the ATF. If you have your full name inscribed onto the firearm, it's pretty much meaningless if the firearm was registered under your trust name. Hope that helps some.

All try to do a better job in explaining.

completed a lower at the end of August/beginning of Sept
-therefore the lower is manufactured under my name not the trusts.
-since engraving isnt mandatory, I did not do it at that time.

decided a few weeks later i wanted to SBR it. Instead of waiting for MSP sign off, decided to get a trust.
-so on my Form 1, the manufacturer is under my trust name.Filling out the Form 1, when I had to clarify who actually manufactured the lower, the ATF change what i wrote to" FORM 1 REGISTRATION, UNITED STATES.

Basically what he said in this thread http://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?t=143365
The unkown model is due to you being the manufacturer. In fact, on my approved eForm1 for 4a the ATF changed the info to "Form 1 Registration, United States", and put my trust info in 3a and 3b.

The eForm system has a database of manufacturers and their model numbers, when you make your own firearm you don't match any of those pre-defined sets, thus you get the error.

    -Jim

Got my tax stamp last week and now looking to get it engraved.

My question is, do I need to have my name as the manufacturer of the lower on it still OR do I just need my trust name on it since it is the manufacturer of the NFA item. (besides model, caliber, s/n)
