I'm left-handed. I only own right-hand bolt rifles. I can cycle them faster than a left-hand bolt. Left-hand bolt rifle parts can be impossible to find as time goes by. Plus I hate limiting myself so much when right-hand choices seem infinite by comparison.

I'm a natural lefty and shot left handed for years. I converted to right handed shooting for the wide availability of right handed rifles and the frustration of always having to adapt to this right hand centric world. It takes a lot of practice to convert but it can be done. It was easier since I'm also right eye dominant.

how does this hillbilly get to try everything first???

seriously i would love to get one in both WMR and 22lr, it's a great way to add to my ruger collection, and it uses 10/22 mags, i wonder if you could put an extended mag release like i have on my 10/22

I'm saying to shoot left-handed with right-hand rifles. ;) Minding your thumb, you'll learn to work the bolt like you've never seen before, with your trigger hand staying put.

As much as I like it, I think they really dropped the ball by not offering a threaded barrel or having it take 10/22 barrels.

    .
My wife brought this one to my attention.
    We both like it.
She is gaining an appreciation for rifles. Maybe she needs her own....

This. I switched to right-handed pistol shooting as well.

Love the new rifles and frankly everything Ruger has brought to the market in the last few years.

    Very Nice

I, on the other hand, have been kinda looking for .22 magnum. This would fit the bill. Great price point also.

I am a Ruger fan boy.

There - I admit it. That's my first step.

I am also left handed but right eye dominant. According to a very old (March 1980) article in the American Rifleman the dominant eye is more important than the dominant hand. I will never forget it because I was just getting in to shooting an I had to decide on left handed or right handed equipment.

OK - I did a quick search. I did not find a copy of the article but I did find someone discussing the article:

"An interesting article is in the March 1980 issue of the American Rifleman. The article, “Do the Eyes Have It?” by Frederick S. Daniels suggests that the dominant eye is more important than the dominant hand in shooting....."

I'm in the same boat and have taught myself to shoot a pistol right handed. It feels just as comfortable as shooting it left handed.
