    Decided to shoot it.
Now have to go count my ammo and figure out how to ration it to maximum effect.

Just to solidify your decision the Expanse series was Colts budget commercial offering. Some chatter on the web about subcontracted parts and processes. Colt snobs might thumb their nose at it so it's unlikely to be a collectors item.

Shoot the hell out of it.

Don't literally "shoot the gun", to be clear. Don't want anyone misunderstanding that. I think the value will decrease if it's shot up and broken.

The Expanse series was made from genuine Colt parts but assembled by a licensed subcontractor. About the only difference was the barrels did not have chromed bores and chambers. Big whoop...the best match rifles rarely have chrome bores. These aren't rifles intended for combat and thousands of rounds run through them continuously and rapidly. They're just fine for civilian use.
