I have a full size xd 9mm and I love it. But it's much too big for concealed carry.
I also have large hands (size xl gloves).
Any recommendations from large handed shooters for a reliable pistol to trust with self defense as an every day carry? Leaning towards 9mm but open to others.

    Thanks

There are a ton of great options.

XD makes a compact but I myself personally dont like XD's.

Other then that Glock 19/23 is probably the best if you have large hands because the magazine is a bit longer giving you more area to hold.

My personal preference is MP40/9C's. I think they feel much better to me then the 26/27 variants.

In reality it's best to go to a shop or range and finger fondle some. Get the one that feels best in your hand. None of us can tell you what will fit your hand.

    Lol.

Yea I just wanted to get a list to focus on feeling up an maybe taking for a test run.

The search feature and a range trip are your friend.

Md small arms rents guns and 90% of gun owners will let you try their toys at the range if you express interest and they aren't shooti a 500 a two bucks a round.

As always, change your wardrobe to suit your preferred gun, not the other way around.

Get a smaller XD? Shoot it first though, I like full-size XD's but hate shooting the small ones.

Glock, XD, M&P. Go finger bang them at your dealer of choice and pick one. I shoot a fullsize M&P9, so when I get a carry only gun, it will be either the new Shield or a 9c.

With you shooting an XD, you might want to focus on the Compact XD's

I don't have problems carrying a Glock 17 despite its size (and I'm 5'9", 180lb). I think you may have to consider holster and wardrobe options first, prior to buying another gun.

That said, I prefer pocketable revolvers over tiny, tiny 9s, for deep concealment.

good ol m&p9c in the desantis intruder. I like that it takes full sized m&p mags for backup and range use.
