You guys who are buying 50lbs of flour how often are you using it? Isn’t it only good for a year? I maybe use 3 lbs a year.

I stuck one of these kiwi spoons in my desk drawer and find it handy. I’m putting one in my truck bag. It’s simple but helpful if you’re trying to eat a little something and don’t have utensils.

There are sturdier options out there. Given these don't have a knife edge like that one, but a person that doesn't already have a knife or 3 probably should reprioritize their prep list. ;)

    Kershaw Ration

There is also a Ration XL that is much longer.

Picked up my quarter of beef and my pork and extra scrapple and 30 lbs of smoked ham and an extra turkey

I really need more freezer space

I am thinking about getting a 300is pound hog and butchering it myself and curing the hams and shoulders and cutting chops and making bacon, sausage and lard like we used to , but, I need more freezer space for that

I will think it out , if it wasn’t deer season for the next few months I would use our farm freezers but they will stay full for most of the season anyway, I will probably just get another freezer

Batteries, CR123A and AA. I don’t know if batteries were hard to find back in March/April, but they last for 10 years so they’re good to have on hand before you need them.

I didn't buy it but if anyone is looking for cooking grease for long term storage then Fallston Walmart has what you need. In 25 lb and 10 lb buckets.

Upgrading power to the utility shed (which is becoming MM Jr's engine workshop.) Will be teaching him about solar power systems tomorrow when we swap out the old PWM charge controller that appears to have some lightning damage - tends to over-charge the battery. (Also purchased a replacement Group 31 battery to replace the previous one.)

I haven't kept a good record but we use probably 75-100 lbs a year without making bread or tortillas. When bread and tortillas were hard to find we were using quite a bit more. My wife makes, cookies, cakes, cupcakes 1-2 times a week mostly as gifts.

Are you going to be stocking up on Long Pork when STHF?
That's free range. I stooc up on BBQ sauce for that reason.

Don't neglect fat as a source of calories. 9 calories per gram as opposed to 4 for carbs and protein. Mix in with soups and stews etc.

My grandma made delicious lard biscuits!!!
She said it gave us a boost first thing in the morning

I am sure it was to save money also. Hell everyone probably ate 2500-3500 calories every morning for breakfast at he house lol but we worked it off, something I find hard to do now

I picked up 100 each of AA and AAA. I'll be a hero if the grid goes down.

Weird internet stuff/hacking was going on last night. Microsoft, FAA, 911, hospitals, etc. all affected.

Just make sure you don't hit the bone or the blade will bend. My very first whack, cutting a 1" diameter branch off a log for fire wood, bent the blade.

    This is what you need....

    Now in Tennessee ,
Went to the Post Office yesterday , On the way home their was a pile of stuff on the side of the road with a sign that said FREE , It looked like junk till I saw 2 propane tanks on the side so I stopped and got them , The lady came out with more stuff and said they were moving and this is all stuff there not taking and asked me if I needed some gardening tools I asked what kind of tools , She said rakes and shovels and a Tiller .
I loaded up all of it . It was like Christmas my GF was thrilled with the Tiller since she goes the garden and now we don't know to rent one . I offered her some money and she wouldn't take it .

My fish were looking a little ill, so I picked up some antibiotics. I may have to pick up some different ones each month just to make sure that I have them covered.

source? i have the same problem...

    Chewy.com sells fish antibiotics

    https://www.chewy.com/b/health-well...MItvX1j8uR7AIVj8DICh3v3g0KEAAYASAAEgLHafD_BwE

The good doctor posted a link somewhere of recommended antibiotics to keep on hand for your fish in case you can't take them to the vet.

    Chewy is my source too.

I would suggest also getting this book:
